No Tomorrow

I push back.

I'm running out of strength, though.

I know that I can't live like this anymore.

Maybe I just won't live then.

Searching for happiness,

searching for a reason,

searching for something outside of me

to match the pain inside.

Snatching the pills off the shelf,

the vodka from the cabinet,

stowing them under my bed

for a day when there will be no tomorrow.

Waiting for that day,

the day when I am brave enough

to swallow my life in a handful

of chalky tablets and burning amber liquid.
