I don't know what brought me here but I'm enjoying my time with Willow any way I can get it.
Putting those ornaments on the pegs behind her I just want to wrap my arms around her and hold her but I know I can't.
When she turned around and we were nose to nose and I felt her breath on my lips so I had to close my eyes and try to focus.
"I think we have done enough Jace." She said.
"Yeah I think you are right but if you want to get ahead we could do more," I said.
She looks down at her watch. "It's already 10 pm by the time I find something to eat and shower I will be passed out." She laughed.
"Want to go grab a burger or some fries? Ross is usually open until 2 am and he will cook for us." I said.
"That sounds good actually. This time we can take the tesla. You can drive." She said.
"Hell yeah! I might not want a truck afterward." I laugh.
"I highly doubt that. This car isn't as nice as my Audi R8." She smirks.
"That's what you drive? Holy shit Willow. What color is it?" I ask.
"It's red." She smiles handing me the key. I follow her out the door like a puppy dog.
I get in the car and feel squished. "Wow, you must short." I laugh.
"Hey now! I'm not that short. You just have really long legs, Jace." She laughs.
"This car doesn't drive too bad but I want to drive the Audi Willow," I beg.
"Guess you will have to come to California for that Jace." She smiles over at me as I pull into the bar.
I open the car door for her and then the door to the bar. Ross smiles when he sees us. "Hey, Ross we were hoping for some food," I said.
"What would you kids like?" He asked.
"A large basket of fries and two chocolate shakes please," I asked.
"Coming right up." Ross smiles and walks off.
I guide Willow over to the same booth we sat at last night and we sit opposite each other.
"I really appreciate your help, Jace. I would still be there otherwise." She said.
"It's no problem. It's not like I have anything to do and Noah is probably out with friends." I said.
"I got to see Justin and Vicky earlier today. We exchanged numbers. She wants to get together. They seemed pretty happy to see me." She said.
"I hang out with Justin a lot and they don't live far from here. He's one of my closest friends besides Ben." I said.
"I didn't know that. But you three always hung out in school. When did they get together?" She asked.
"Once they started working together they started hanging out I believe," I said just as Ross walks over with our food.
"Thanks, Ross!" Willow said.
I watched her put the straw up to her lips and I'm mesmerized. She looks at me and laughs. "Do I have something on my face?" She asks.
"No sorry," I said taking a drink and grabbing the ketchup.
"Thanks, I don't need any ketchup. I'll just dip them in my milkshake." She said.
"You always did do that." I smile.
"I don't know how you remember that Jace." She said.
"I remember a lot of things about you Willow. We spent so much time together growing up." I said.
"That we did but I always thought I was the annoying kid sister."
"Ben may have thought so but I didn't Willow."
"I was dreading coming home but I've actually enjoyed it. Still holding my breath for when I see Jackie." She said.
"Oh, you haven't yet? Well, she's about the same. She annoys the fuck out of me wanting me to take her out. But I won't." I shrugged.
"What you don't like her winning personality?" She laughs.
"I can't stand her period." I chuckle then look up and see Jackie. "Oh no she's coming this way. Please come sit beside me. If you don't she will try to sit on my lap."
Willow jumps up and sits beside me and turns toward me like she's interested in what I'm saying. She reached out and wraps her hand around my wrist and smiles.
"Hi, Jace I thought that was you," Jackie said.
"Evening Jackie," I said.
"On a hot date, I see." She said.
"Something like that. Isn't it late for you to be out? where are your husband and kids?" I ask.
"At home of course. Aren't you going to introduce me to your date?" She asked.
"No introductions needed," I smirk then glance at Willow who smiles and winks at me and then turns around.
"Hi, Jackie!" She said.
"Willow? Willow Oliver is that you?" She gasped.
"That would be me, Jackie. Long time no see." Willow said.
"What are you doing out with her?" She asked.
"That's none of your business Jackie and if you don't mind we would like to finish this," I said pointing between Willow and me.
Willow turned around more in her seat and put her back up against my chest. "Yeah, we were catching up on old times." She smiled.
"Well, I gotta go." She said stomping away.
"Wow, how have you put up with that?" Willow asked.
"She doesn't bother me often she has her hands full with her five kids and husband number three I think maybe four." I shrug.
"Oh wow!" She laughed.
We finished off our fries and shakes and walk over to pay Ross.
"It's good seeing you kids together." He smiles.
We both just smile at him and don't confirm or deny anything. I open the door for her to get in the car and then drive us back to the shop.
"Thanks for letting me drive this rental but it's no Audi I'm sure." I laugh.
"No, it's not but your welcome. So now I can drive your truck?" She smiles.
"Anytime you want to Willow. I'll follow you home and watch the sidewalk." I said.
"Thanks, I'll try to remember. Goodnight Jace."
"Goodnight Willow," I said walking over and hopping in my truck. I follow her home and wait until she gets in the house then I head to my empty apartment.
