Nini
We're going on week two of 'Ricky in a coma'. It becomes scarier every day. I'm still talking to his lifeless looking body. I don't know why. It's not like I've lost my mind... yet.

I haven't missed a single day of visiting him. It's become a familiar routine and that was scary. His dad visits every other day because of work. Our little gang has come around, but, obviously, we're not all allowed in the room at once.

"Hey, Bubs. I don't know what to say anymore, so I thought I'd try something different." I brought my ukulele and sang a song I didn't think I would sing ever again.

So much has happened think of what we've done
In the time that the earth has traveled 'round the sun
Winter, spring, summer, and we're back to fall
We've been together hand in hand through it all

From the minute we kissed and my heart skipped a beat
To the night that we danced, I was swept off my feet
Sure as every year has to come to an end
I'd go spinning 'round the sun with you again
And again and again and again

I think I kinda, you know
I think I kinda, you know
Like the way that we flow
Like the way that we go
And I love I think I kinda, you know
I think I kinda, you know, you know, you know

I can't help dreaming of you
Guess I'm saying I don't not love you
You know, you know, you know

By the time I was done singing, I had a few tears rolling down my face. "I know you're gonna come out of this ok." I think I was lying to myself. I'm praying everything will be alright, but I haven't actually been convinced yet. "Bye, Bubs, please get better soon." I left probably with red eyes and a tear-stained face.

When I leave his room I see Kourtney. "Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked her.

"First off, Ricky is my friend too. I came to see him, but I wanted to make sure you're fine. Are you?" she asked with concern laced in her voice.

"No. It's been two weeks. Two weeks. I don't know how much longer until my emotions explode from seeing him like this."

"Well, not to sound harsh, but maybe your visits should lean more to the every other day side of things." I look at her as if her skin changed to a completely different color.

"I'm too anxious to do that. Too much worry goes through my head."

"Fine, but come out of your house more to hang out with us. It'll be fun. At least I don't have to slide food under your door," she said while laughing.

"Ha ha, very funny. What are we doing in the meantime?"

"I don't know, the mall? Let's just go somewhere that isn't your house," she suggested.

"Fine, I'll meet you there." We got in our cars and started driving. Kourtney started calling me, even though she was right in front of me. I picked it up and put it on speaker.

"I'm going to be able to talk to you in a minute; why'd you call?" I asked her through the phone.

"I just wanted to mention that Ashlyn and Gina are meeting us there," she said.

"Ok, that's- Jesus Christ!!!" I scream. A blue Honda civic comes from the other direction and almost hits me!

"Nini? You ok?" Kourtney asks.

"Yeah, some idiot ran a red light and almost hit me. But I'm fine," I said.

"Ok, see you in a second." And she hung up. We got out of our cars and saw Gina and Ashlyn at the entrance.

"Kourtney, you actually got her to come here?!" Ashlyn exclaims.

"Yeah yeah, we get it; I came out of my house for once. Let's get moving before I change my mind," I said and ushered everyone inside.

We were just roaming around to different stores, browsing through clothes. I didn't feel like buying anything though, but this was a good distraction. "Let's get something to eat," Ashlyn said. We got in line at Chick-Fil-A, grabbed our food, then sat at a nearby table.

"See, Nini, it's so bad to step outside of your house and the hospital," Kourtney told me.

"I guess you're right; this was a good distraction," I admitted.

"What now?" Gina asked.

"I don't know. I'm getting kinda tired," I say. Kourtney gives me that look.

"If we leave you, are you actually going to go home or back to Ricky?" she asks.

"I'll actually go home," I tell them. I was exhausted anyway.

"I don't believe you, but we'll let you go home," Ashlyn says.

Thankfully there were no stupid drivers. I get home and see a note on the fridge.

Mom and I are working late. Leftovers on the top shelf

That's fine; I kinda wanted to be alone with my thoughts.

I went to my room to try and write a song to distract me, but nothing worked. All I could think about was Jessica and Ricky. From meeting her, to karaoke night, to the hospital incident, to now. That gave me some inspiration. I started playing chords just as a distraction mechanism, and words started appearing on the paper next to me. This was so far my second favorite song.

As I mentioned last time, these next few chapters are gonna be shorter than normal. Sorry
