"Wake up, wake up." A woman called out, as we all opened our eyes and woke up. It startled Frypan so much that he sat up too quick, and slammed his head onto the top of his bottom bunk.
"Man." He rubbed his head, as I watched the woman, another woman, and two guards, walk in and over to a long table by the door.
She set out six piles of clothes, one after the other, before turning and smiling at us. "Scans are in ten minutes, two guards will be waiting outside to escort you. Today's a big day." It felt a lot later than sunrise, and I guess some of the boys had been up for a while, like Newt or Minho.
She never broke her peppy voice, before turning and leaving, the others following. The door shut and locked, probably to be unlocked in exactly ten minutes.
I slowly rose to my feet as Minho jumped down from the top bunk, completely ignoring the ladder right there.
The boys started to get up, all of them, Frypan still holding his head. "What have we got here?" Winston asked, examining the piles on the table. "Sweet."
"New clothes? We get more than one pair?" Newt asked, stepping off his ladder and looking at all of us.
Thomas walked over, the boys following, as they all picked out an outfit. I joined them, and looked at the last pile left.
With a disgusted look on my face, I slowly picked up the tiniest tank top and pair of shorts I've ever seen. What was I dressing for?
Frypan laughed at my face as the boys looked to me. "I'm not wearing that." I shook my head, as each of them smiled, and I placed the things back down. There was also a pair of underwear, but it looked way less comfortable, and the bra was a neon pink.
"Well, no one can make you change." Newt told me, as I nodded in agreement, and walked back over to my bed.
"Guys, we saw something last night. Parker and I." Thomas started, explaining the whole vent thing and the bodies as I minded my business, and they changed. They asked a lot of questions.
I kept my gaze to the floor as I slid on my shoes, the boys changing around me. I still remained looking at the stone below me as I walked to the mirror, brushing my hair out with my fingers.
Something sort of crossed my mind, as I remembered a little something. I slid my fingers in my dark hair and slowly started twisting the pieces, something I didn't even remember learning.
Within a few minutes the boys finished dressing up, and I had one long braid in my long hair, a few loose pieces, of course. I smiled at myself, and my perfectly nice outfit; which was comfy and not completely about one shred of fabric.
The door unlocked as we all looked over, the boys' questions stopping, and I stepped away from the spotted mirror. The door opened, and sure enough, two guards were standing there.
"Come on." They motioned, as we slowly went after them. No one shut the door behind us, it sort of just swung closed.
We were led to a few rooms, separated, and had to do different things. For me, I was scanned a few times with a few different machines, which felt like it took hours.
Then, I was asked a few questions, but not ones I thought they'd ask. More like; "What do you see in this picture?" Referencing a picture of a few blobs of ink. And "Do you feel any type of pain? Headaches? Stomach cramps? Hunger?" And while I didn't feel any of those, I was starting to feel a bit annoyed.
Luckily, it all ended, and soon we could go to dinner. I was escorted to the cafeteria, where my friends were all mostly there, and got my food, before sitting down. I sat down in between Newt and Thomas, like I had yesterday.
