Do you all remember when Harry first walked into Ron's house, how amazed he was at all the chores being done by magic and the shock of muggle things being done differently there?
Now is a time where I could borrow Molly and her wonderful magic so I can clean my house and still be able to write randomness on here, then do my work stuff because being an adult sucks. Let's be real here.
I mean you have to do taxes, go to work, do shit by yourself without having anyone to help you majority of the time, if you still like watching anime or "kid stuff" people judge you. It's not fair. We never have time to do the stuff we used to and when we do get time it's like, "Oh hey I got a day off, FINALLY! Hmm I'll sleep in and be lazy today" then several hours later you start to write and realize "haha I really shouldn't have laid in bed watching Danisnotonfire, Game Grumps, and Markiplier videos all day..."
Remember nap time? Feeling really stupid now for never participating in that fun time...
Okay now onto the main part of this chappy.
Watching and fangirling over Harry Potter as an adult.
Some days I just like to watch Harry Potter and do nothing but lay in bed relaxing, however if some of my friends know wha I'm doing they start to judge.
Let's just get a few things straight here okay?
1) I work 12 hour shifts 5 days a week, I need some down time or else certain people will go missing and I am up in the mountains hiding a body.
2) I can watch what I want and on my days off I will wear my burger jumper along with ice cream pj shorts and not give a fuck about anyone.
3) Anime is not just for kids, I love Psycho Pass and Death Note, so what? Can't tell me to stop watching it.
4) I work my ass off to have money or fun things like spending it on stuff I like and treating my close friends and family to cool stuff, no I will not but you this or that unless I know you will use it. I plan every single thing out and if it does not happen then I'm sure as hell not going to waste my time on you fucking around with my money. It's rude but it's true.
5) Harry Potter is hardly "kid stuff" I mean we learned fucking critical life lessons from this series. Let me demonstrate the crazy mess that we hold so near and dear to our hearts. Thank you.
People say these are chldren's book and they say it in a way that is demeaning. These books taught us about themes that even some of us adults don't understand. Racism, classicism, prejudice, and general ignorance. These books in fact taught us we get to choose if we are loyal, brave, cunning, and true. That it doesn't matter how we are raised or how we live, we can always change and control who we are when we're older.
The books show us that even an innocent child can get fucked over in real life, that people are cruel and no matter who we are we will have to face certain challenges in life. Nothing is easy because if it's easy it is not really true. It showed us that life is pretty damn hard.
We grew up watching a man plan on taking over the world and who wanted to kill many just to try and get what he wanted. The original story line is pretty demented if you think about it and the more I do the more I realize adulthood sucks. A kid saved the world from this "horrid" man but then again his world was corrupt and dark. As he series want on it just got darker and darker, this is true to our own lives. Then again we have those moments, our very own King's Cross moments. Our own light in dark times. They help us change and mold us into the people we are now.
Adulthood seemed like such an exciting time when I was 5 or 6 but now it's all too real. The responsibilities are nearly overwhelming but then I think back the the little boy who lived under the stairs. The boy who had his mother's eyes who has managed to survive all these years with challenges far greater than the ones I have to overcome and that grounds me. That boy keeps me sane. This series keeps me sane. Isn't that crazy, how a book can keep someone from pulling their hair out and crying whilst things go wrong?
Adulthood sucks.
But it definitely does get better. Keep your head up and keep going. I'm here for anyone of they need to talk to someone even if it's just to rant. Don't feel alone because you never know who might just be your saving grace.
I love you all and thank you so much for reading my books, this truly makes my day knowing people want to read these little rants or walks down memory lane.
Please feel free to comment, vote, follow.
