Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A

"Charlie's Furnishings and home appliances, how can I help you? ...Yeh sure, hold on. Annabel there's a call for you on line 1." The store's receptionist called to Annabel.

"Ok, thanks Sara," Annabel excused herself from a customer to take the call. Annabel had migrated to the U.S after Steffen broke off their engagement and André was too much of a coward to continue their affair, so things ended there also. She ended up living at a relative in Michigan while working as a full time sales clerk at Charlie's Furnishings and Home Appliances.

"Annabel Bryan nice to meet you. You don't know me, so let's say I am a friend of a friend and I have something very important to discuss with you. Do you know a Steffen Morris?" The person enquired.

"St..Steffen Morris?" Annabel wondered who it could be that was asking about Steffen in the U.S. "This is really strange that someone would be asking me about him. Is he in some kinda trouble?"

"Well ...it depends on your definition of trouble." The person laughed cynically.

Annabel was surprised and confused with the caller. "Listen I don't know who you are or what you want, and I don't care what you are selling, I am not interested." She moved to hang up the call.

"But Steffen needs you! He is about to make the biggest mistake of his life. He has totally forgotten about you and is looking to move on with his life."

"So what?! He should move on. After what happened between us he should try to live his life."

"But you are his only hope and I know that he can help you too. Look at you, you used to be prime console, but now you are punching a 9 -5 at minimum wage while Steffen reaps the glory of his grandfather's company. Are you not thinking of yourself or your son's future?"

"Wait! How do you know about my son? And what does my son have to do with Steffen?" She was getting flustered but tried to keep her voice down.

"I've sent a package to your apartment with a plane ticket and some cash to get you to Barbados. Keep this a secret or the deals off!"

"What deal? Who are you? And what do you want?"

"Just call me Charles," He snickered.

"If that were true then you can call me Camilla." Annabel retorted. "I have no time for this, good bye."

"Wait! Don't go! I am only trying to help."

"Help? Why do you think I need your help and what do you have to gain from all of this?" She asked.

"Oh I am just repairing the breaches and putting everything in their rightful place. Steffen took something from me and I intend to get it back. I know you still love him." The person slithered.

"None of that doesn't matter. I don't deserve a chance to get back with him." Annabel sulked.

"Everyone deserves a little happiness and so do you."

"But who are you to say what I do or don't deserve? What is your name? Your real name or I am done talking."

"Ok, ok, it's Fields," he gave in, "Scott Fields and remember no one is to know I am helping you got that? Rather than think I am helping they may say I am meddling, I was even assaulted for helping out. It's a cruel world and people don't trust easily. Well ...I've done my part now it up to you." He ended the call leaving Annabel in dismay.

Annabel called home immediately to verify if a package came to her apartment. Clare her babysitter, said that one came after she left for work the morning. Annabel began feeling unsure and wondered why all this was now happening, why was this person Scott Fields intervening in her personal life? Was there really a chance of redemption and getting back with Steffen? She pondered.
