HALE LOFT , BEACON HILLS
MIA sat on the spiral stairs as she listened to Cora and Stiles talk about Derek who had disappeared after Boyd's death and is yet to return. Mia doesn't blame him it's what Derek does. He gets upset, he runs off for a few days/weeks and then he comes back and acts like nothing happened. She wished he would talk about it but Derek doesn't do feelings.
"Maybe you should shut up and have some respect. Derek was just forced to kill his own Beta, Stiles. He's allowed to have some time to grieve and process that, he's not Superman he can't fix all your problems. Put some big boy pants on and sort your own shit out and don't depend on my brother." Mia scolded Stiles who was yelling at Cora because he was mad Derek wasn't around to solve all the problems of Beacon Hills like it's his job or something. "He can't save everyone so don't put that on him." She growled as she got up from the step and headed over to the couch to create some space between her and the human boy.
Cora nodded in agreement as she gave her sister a small smile knowing she was still upset about seeing Boyd die in Derek's arms, it affected her. "I don't know." Said Cora. "There's something different about him now. He wasn't like this when I knew him. " Cora told Stiles and Mia tried to remember what Derek was like when he was younger.
"What was he like?" Stiles asked.
Before either Mia or Cora could answer him Peter came down the stairs. "A lot like Scott, actually." He said for them. Mia smiled up at Peter's appearance as he made his way down the stairs.
"A lot like most teenagers. Unbearably romantic, profoundly narcissistic...tolerable really only to other teenagers." Peter explained to the boy as he made his way over to Mia and sat next to the girl patting her knee in a form of comfort.
"And so what happened? What changed him?" Stiles asked or more like demanded. Mia was getting annoyed with the boy like couldn't he just mind his own business? Maybe worry about his own life for once.
"Well, the same thing that changes a lot of young men." Said Peter.
Mia nodded. "Puberty." She finished for him causing Cora to snort at her sister. Mia giggled as she rolled her lips together to try and stop her laughter.
Peter shook his head at the girls antics. "A girl."
Stiles rolled his eyes. "You're telling me some girl broke his little heart? That's why Derek is the way he is?"
"Just because you can't get a girlfriend and will probably stay bitter and sarcastic for the rest of your life pining over a girl who will never like you." Mia attacked the boy, getting defense over his statement towards her brother.
