The next day, Josh woke up, got dressed, and headed to visit his mom shortly after. He couldn't wait to tell her about everything that happened the last two days, knowing she'd probably be just as excited as he was.

When he got to the hospital, he headed inside and went up the elevator, and he went to the room his mom was staying in, knocking on the door for warning like usual.

He came in with a wide smile on his face and greeted her, "gooood afternoon, momma. How're ya doin'?"

"I'm doing well," she answered, then taking a second to get a good look at her son, "...and I take it you are too? You look happy. What happened?"

He waited until he pulled up the chair beside his mom's bed before he finally let it all out, "I went by the bakery the other day and brought Tyler Taco Bell because he said the day before that he normally doesn't have time to eat on Sundays because of how busy they are, but he loved it and we sat down and ate together and talked about random things like his job and music and stuff like that, and then before I left and he went back to work, I asked him if he wanted to go out and have lunch the next day, and guess what? he said YES!"

His mom gasped and said, "no!" in disbelief and excitement.

"Yes!" Josh practically squealed, "and so yesterday, we met up at this diner and talked again while we ate and we got to know more about each other, and mom, HE'S GAY! Well, bi- queer?- whatever. But he LIKES BOYS!"

She smiled and gasped again, "really? And I'm guessing you told him that you're gay too?"

"Mhm," He nodded quickly, "but, he mentioned something about not dating anyone in eight years or something because of some horrible ex he had that kinda ruined it for him, and I thought that meant I didn't have a chance, but nope! He said after it that he was thinking about maybe trying dating again soon! So I still could have a chance!"

"Geez, what did that ex do to him to make him quit dating for eight years?"

"No idea, he didn't give details and said he didn't want to talk about it much. But either way, he wouldn't have to worry about anyone else hurting him or ruining dating for him, because if we got together, I swear that I would treat him so good. And I really would like to prove that to him sometime soon."

"Well, it sounds like you have a pretty good shot at getting to do that at some point, so you've just gotta work closer to it," she told him with a smile.

"Well hopefully you're right, I hope I can," he smiled back, but then he suddenly mentioned another thing from the day before, "oh- and can I just say, he looked SO cute yesterday. He was wearing this sweater and it was a little big on him and oversized and it was just-" if Josh were able to say 'aldjfjdksk' at this moment, he would. "It was just so cute on himmm he looked so goodddd..."

"I wish I could agree, I'd love to know what he looks like—" she told him, and it reminded him about the pictures.

"Oh! That reminds me, I actually have a couple of pictures of him! Here," he pulled out his phone and pulled up the first picture, which was the contact photo one where he was smiling and laughing, and he handed her the phone to let her see, "swipe to see the other one."

It only took her a couple seconds of looking at it to have an opinion. She told him, "okay, I see it. He's pretty cute, and he's got a nice smile."

As she flipped to the next picture, Josh replied to what she said before and said, "I knowwww, it's so cuuUUUuuuttteee..."

Once she looked at the last picture, she smiled and asked, "oh you got one of both of you? Awe, that's so cute..." she handed him his phone back and said, "you two would make a cute couple, I'll agree. And he is very good looking, you're right."
