Peter's POV
I was trying to put on a brave face for the Narnians, but I was really a nervous wreck. A Griffin landed beside me majestically.
"They come, Your Highness, in numbers and weapons far greater than our own." he said to me.
I was still getting used to being addressed to with such formalities as 'Your Highness' or 'Your Majesty' or 'Sire'.
"Numbers do not win a battle." said Orieus, who was on my other side.
"No." I finally spoke, "But I bet they help."
The Witch's army finally came into sight. One of the Minotaurs was leading the way. And behind him was the Witch, being drawn in a carriage pulled by polar bears. I looked back at Edmund and Y/N.Y/N's POV
Peter looked back at us. Edmund nodded. Peter looked straight ahead again. He took out his sword and raised it up, making the Narnians cheer. The Witch's army charged forward, but our army stayed still. Edmund and I drew our swords. Peter gave a signal with his sword. From above us, birds and Griffins and other flying creatures moved towards the Witch's army. They dropped rocks down the opposing army, killing or severely injuring some soldiers.
Third Person POV
"For Narnia! And for Aslan!" Peter shouted.
The Narnian army charged forward in formation. Both sides got closer and closer, readying their weapons. For a moment, the only thing heard was the hooves of the horses and unicorns. Then, the cavalries collided and noise invaded the atmosphere. The plunging into flesh, the clashing of metal against metal and the growls of animals. Soldiers were being knocked dead in seconds. Finally, the Witch moved forward. At the back of the formation, where Edmund and Y/N were leading, the archers shot arrows of fire that transformed into Phoenices. The glorious creatures changed back into flames and created a ring of fire in the middle of the plain. The Narnians cheered; Y/N and Edmund smiled.
But the Witch blasted a sheen of ice that broke through the fire so that she could pass.
When Peter noticed this, he called out, "Fall back! Draw them to the rocks."
"That's the signal. Come on!" Mr Beaver said to Edmund and Y/N.
Y/N signalled the archers, who nocked their arrows and shot, hitting the soldiers in the front of the Witch's army. Meanwhile, Ginarrbrik used his own bow to shoot the Unicorn on which Peter was sitting. Peter fell off with a heavy jerk. He was quick to recover and noticed the Witch getting closer. He got up onto his feet. Then he noticed Orieus charging at the Witch.
"Stop!" Peter called.
But Orieus didn't stop. He kept moving forward. On the way, he was met with a Minotaur, but he stabbed it in the back after a few seconds of wrestling. Orieus drew another sword, letting out a fierce battle-cry, slashing anything that came in his way. When he reached the Witch, he jumped at her, attempting to slice her head off, but she dodged it. He ran back to her, ready to make another move, but she used her wand and turned him to stone.Meanwhile, Edmund and Y/N were on the central battlefield, trying their hardest to be of benefit to their army. And, although Edmund will not admit it, he was also trying to impress Peter.
Peter looked around him and all he could see was death. Somehow, the Witch was winning. Even the Griffins were being killed. The Witch looked at him and he knew danger was approaching. He turned to his brother.
"Edmund! There's too many! Get out of here!" he shouted, "Get the girls and get them home."
Edmund looked around.
"Where's Y/N?" he called back to Peter.
"I'll find her!" was Peter's response, before he shielded himself from a Minotaur, just in time.
"You heard him! Let's go!" Mr Beaver said and pulled Edmund away from the battlefield.
But Edmund resisted, because he spotted something. The Witch's wand! Edmund drew his sword.
"Peter said 'Get out of here!'." Mr Beaver said.
"Peter's not King, yet." Edmund said, running back to where the action took place. The Witch's eyes were on Peter, but she was quick to react when Edmund swung his sword down beside her. She stood to face him and threw out her wand. But Edmund dodged and slammed his sword down, breaking her wand. A blue light emerged from the tip, drawing the attention of Y/N who could predict what the Witch was about to do.
"Edmund!" she called out.
Edmund turned to look at her. The Witch took this opportunity to use the broken half of her wand. She drew her arm back and lashed it forward, meaning to pierce through Edmund. But Y/N ran into the scene, pushing Edmund out of the way, only to get stabbed by the Witch instead.
"Y/N!" Peter yelled.
That was the last thing Y/N heard before she hit the ground, falling next to Edmund, who was already knocked out.Peter had had enough. He ran to the Witch, determined to kill her. He threw his sword at her, almost hitting her head. Each time he made a move, she blocked it. Then, she gave a blow that knocked him to the ground. Peter got back up, subconsciously touching his eyebrow, which was bleeding. The Witch recklessly slashed at him; Peter threw his head back, the swords missing him by only an inch. Peter began to swing his blade at her mercilessly, but she shielded herself well. And that was when the battle was interrupted by a sound that was music to Peter's ears. Aslan.
"Impossible." the Witch breathed out.
She noticed that Peter was still distracted and seized the opportunity to fling her sword at Peter, who fortunately dodged in the nick of time. After a short duel, the Witch managed to tackle Peter to the ground. She stabbed her sword into his arm. Peter struggled to move. While the Witch kept slashing at him, he used his shield, but she soon got that out of his grip. Peter looked up at her, fearing for his life. But just as she was about to kill him, Aslan leaped onto her, saving Peter's life.Aslan watched as the Witch took one last breath, and then finished her off. Peter jumped to his feet. He looked around as the Witch's army started to disappear slowly. Aslan walked towards him.
"It is finished." He said.
"Peter!" Susan and Lucy ran to their brother, the younger hugging him.
Susan looked around, worried.
"Edmund? Y/N?" she looked at Peter.
The three siblings ran to where Peter said they were. They got there to find Edmund and Y/N laying on the ground, Edmund completely still and Y/N breathing raggedly, trying to grip the grass. Ginarrbrik walked up from behind her and was about to use his axe.
"Y/N!" Susan shouted and shot the dwarf, killing him.
All of a sudden, Edmund woke up frantically, and looked at Y/N. As the Pevensies ran to them, Edmund took off Y/N's helmet and laid her head in his lap. Lucy quickly took out her cordial and poured one drop into Y/N's mouth. Y/N's breathing slowly calmed down and eventually stopped. Edmund's eyes were so full of tears that he couldn't see at all. The other Pevensies had starting tearing up too. But suddenly, Y/N gave a gentle cough. The Pevensies looked at each other, smiling hopefully. Y/N slowly opened her eyes. Before she could process anything, Edmund scooped her into his arms and hugged her tightly. After a while, Lucy jumped into the hug and Peter and Susan joined too.Y/N's POV
The Pevensies and I stayed in our loving huddle for a minute or so. Then, we heard Aslan walking toward us. He breathed on one of the statues, bringing it back to life. Lucy looked at Him and knew what she had to do. She picked up her cordial and grinned at us. Then, she ran off, her cloak flying in the wind.
