A/N: So, I finally managed to get my life back on track a bit, and because I'm really excited about this bit of the story, I'm gonna post it now. The next chapter will be up later today as well, around the usual time. Thank you for being patient with me and I'm sorry again for the delay post. Anyway... Here's the new chapter. I hope you enjoy it!

"Thanks for coming to meet me." Finn said quietly as he sat with Rachel at the Lima Bean. Sure he felt weird talking to his ex-girlfriend, especially considering the subject he was there to address, but he was confused and Rachel was in town so why not, right? After all, what else could possibly go wrong for Finn Hudson anyway? "I half-thought that Brody guy was gonna be with you, and I didn't think you'd want to spend your first Valentine's Day apart."

"Yeah, it's actually a little bit of a point of contention between the two of us." Rachel admitted. "He was... I don't know, weirded out, about going to a stranger's wedding, and so I..."

"Okay. Okay, cool, cool. So I don't really need to hear about your new boyfriend that you're living with, all right?"

Rachel raised an eyebrow at that, but decided to let it slide and finally address the problem she had been seeing with Finn ever since she walked into the establishment a few minutes earlier.

"Finn, what's going on right now?" She asked, finally, grabbing his face in his face in her hands so he would look at her properly. "You look like you slept in those clothes. And you won't even look at me."

"I kissed Emily." Finn admitted in a rushed whisper and Rachel quickly retracted from him, unsure of how to deal with that information.

"Did she kiss you back?" She asked.

"No, she was totally pissed about it." Finn said, as Rachel frowned, confused about the feeling she was getting, having that conversation with Finn.

He was single after all and, as much as Emily wasn't, he was allowed to be attracted to her. Still it stung and Rachel wasn't sure if it was because she still felt something for Finn — which she didn't, because she loved Brody, right? — or it was simply because, of all the girls in the world, Finn just had to find himself attracted to one of the pretty, popular cheerleaders that had always made her life a living hell. It was like high school all over again and, once more, Rachel was losing.

"I don't even know how it happened." Finn continued his rant as Rachel snapped back to reality to listen to him instead of just to her own thoughts. "We've just been spending all this time together and she's been helping me so much, and then... She was there, and I just felt the need to... And I kissed her, and I..."

"Does Sam know?" Rachel interrupted him, noticing Finn was starting to derail.

"I don't... I don't think so." He shook his head. "I don't know if she told him already, but... Maybe I should."

"No." Rachel said, quickly. "Don't. Just... Don't, okay? Remember how you felt about Puck when you found out about him and Quinn? You kicked a garbage can. I mean, you two are living together now, right? Who knows what can happen then?"

"I'm the worst person in the world!" Finn yelled loudly as a few people turned to look at him, confused and Rachel leaned forward to grab his attention again.

"No, you're not." She told him as he frowned at her. "What you did, it wasn't great, but I get it. You're confused, and... And lonely. I'm sure that just knowing about Brody and I living together, it-it set you off."

"Not everything has to do with you." Finn snapped as Rachel sighed, leaning back on her chair and away from him. "Look, I don't know what to do."

"You always wanted to be an actor, right?" Rachel asked, as she grabbed her coffee and got up to leave. "So here's your chance to play the role of the good friend."
