Sid's entire body convulsed as the pain shot through him like lightening. Every muscle in his body tensed to the point of breaking, his teeth nearly cracking under the amount of pressure his jaw was exerting. While the pain was coursing all over him, he did not allow it to fully enter into his mind, he refused to let himself black out. Minutes passed that felt like hours as he felt his fingernails dig deeply into the palms of his hands. It was at this point that he felt his muscles begin to tear and break, the pain was unbearable. His body fell to the floor, forcing Carson to release him.

"I warned you," Carson said with a smile. "The human body cannot handle that much. You hero types are all the same, you think you can handle anything."

Sid's eyes shot open and he stood up quickly, his mind completely clear. The amazement on Carson's face was palpable. "You did that to him!" Sid screamed, the veins in his neck were bulging with anger, he had not felt anger this intense in hundreds of years, if not over a thousand. "Your organization keeps making the same mistake, you keep calling me a hero. The only thing further from the truth is that I am a human, you have no idea what you are dealing with!"

Sid stepped forward, forcing Carson to react. He placed his palm on Sid's cheek, but nothing happened. Carson felt as though his energy had been drained from him as he was unable to call his powers forth and bring pain to his target. Sid grasped his wrist and spun his arm so that his palm faced the ceiling. In the same movement, he drew his blade and in a flash of light, flayed the skin from Carson's forearm. Carson screamed in pain, writhing and trying to free himself from Sid's grip. "That is not possible! I saw the impact my ability had on your body! You shouldn't be able to stand!" The strip of flesh fell to the floor as blood rained down.

"I usually end confrontations quickly as I do not particularly enjoy inflicting pain on my opponents, but I think I will take my time with you!" Sid shouted in the man's face as he continued to struggle. He released the man's wrist but grasped his hand instead, leaving his fingers sticking out the side of his fist. The pressure he was exerting caused Carson to fall to a knee. Sid brought his knife up and slid it under each of Carson's fingernails, also removing the skin from around them, cutting to the bone.

Carson shrieked in pain and continued to squirm, trying to free himself. "Stop!" he screamed in pain. "I am only following orders!" Sid finally released his grip on the man's hand, and he crawled backward cradling his injured arm as he put his back against the wall. "I will tell you whatever you want to know, just let me live!"

"Unacceptable," Sid said flatly. "I already told you I would tell you everything, remember." He crouched down in front of the terrified man and glared into his eyes. "The organization you are targeting is mine, granted I set it up to appear as though it was Maldion who was calling the shots. It was his for the most part, but I am the one who he answered too. You made a mistake targeting people that are innocent and within my organization." Sid stood back up and began pacing, leading him to a table with syringes on it. He picked up one that had adrenaline in it and walked back over to Carson, quickly injecting it into his neck. Next, he grasped his left ankle and pulled his pant leg up before running his blade up the front of his shin, scrapping all the flesh to the bone. The scream was ear splitting as Sid returned to his pacing. "I was already targeting you based on the corruption within your company, but I was trying to restrain from allowing those that may not have any idea what you were truly up to enter my crosshairs."

"Stop, just stop! I am sorry okay!" Carson shrieked from the floor, his voice cracking in pain. "I renounce my allegiance to the Society!"

Sid laughed a terrible and menacing laugh, fixing his eyes back upon the man on the floor. "Your apology means absolutely nothing," he growled through clenched teeth. "The pain you are going to feel will likely not be as much as what you made Maldion feel, but that is because you are nowhere near the man he was!" He grabbed Carson's right foot and removed his boot, followed by flaying the skin from the top of his foot.

Carson's eyes rolled back in his head as he continued to sob, laying on the floor. Drool was running down his chin as he gasped for breath. "I will do whatever you want, just please stop!"

"I want you to feel the pain Maldion felt!" screamed Sid, spit flying from his mouth as his eyes bulged with anger. "You have no idea what it feels like to find someone you raised from very early in their life in such a way. To find out what they were exposed to before death!" Pacing once more, rage was seething from Sid. "His death has sealed the fate of the Society!"

Surprisingly, this statement caused Carson to laugh through his sobs. "You cannot hope to stop Scion, he is becoming more powerful by the day! You have no idea the lengths he is willing to go to in order to gain more power!" Grasping his wounds, he scowled at Sid. "He is going to kill you!"

"I can only hope he will be successful, no one else has been thus far," Sid stated flatly, while reaching out to grab the man's left foot.

"No! Get away from me!" Unable to escape, Carson tried to latch onto Sid's wrist, hoping that his ability could protect him. His attempt was futile. Sid slid his blade along the back of his hand, exposing the bones, more blood rained to the floor. Carson's scream reverberated off the walls. "I hope he makes you suffer!"

"Life is suffering, he can do no more to me than what has already been done," Sid responded in a low, cold growl. "I can at least say this, I am not enjoying this. That is a positive note to take away from this experience. While prone to violence, I do not enjoy prolonging others suffering, even when they deserve it."

"You are pathetic," Carson growled. "You do not have the stomach to take down the Society! We are going to chew you up and spit you out!"

Sid ignored his opponents insult and threat and paced back and forth once more. "Do you know where Scion is located?"

"Your time to ask me questions has passed," Carson laughed, spitting at Sid's feet. "I won't tell you anything!"

Rounding on the man, he glared into his eyes. "You have two choices, tell me and I will kill you quickly, or do not tell me and I will draw it out."

Carson laughed, "I cannot wait until Scion finds you!"

"The man has been running from me for over thirty years, what makes you think he has any intention of breaking that habit?" Sid asked with a smirk. "I wish he would come find me, make my life a lot simpler. Instead, he chooses to hide in the shadows and send countless faceless peons to die by my hands." Sid began pacing again, "He had to know that I would come for Maldion, yet you are here without nearly enough force to stop me from doing what I am here to do. How does it feel to be expendable? I never sent someone to do a job that I should do myself, that is why you lot targeting my people is so unacceptable."

"We are going to track down everyone that matters to you and torture them to death!" Carson cackled. "I am just sorry I won't be there to help!"

This statement was the last straw to Sid. He grasped Carson's left wrist and stabbed his blade between the bones in the back of his hand, then began slowly pulling toward himself. Carson stopped cackling and began screaming and struggling once more. Sid said nothing but continued to pull slowly until his blade freed itself from his flesh. He repeated the action between the next two bones in his hand, until there were four large gapping wounds in his hand, the bones exposed. Carson's sobs had returned as he slowly tried to crawl away from Sid. His sense of guilt at what he was doing still lingered, but he paid it no attention. This man had committed atrocities in his life, and he needed to know what it felt like to be on the receiving end of his actions. Moving around the man's body he continued to cut the remaining tendons and ligaments throughout him and soon the man laid motionless on the floor, a pool of blood around him.

Sid retrieved a towel from a cabinet on the far wall and cleaned the blood from his hands and blade before stowing his blade back in the pouch he had pulled it from. He then knelt back in front of Maldion and lowered his head in silent revere. The sound of footsteps was moving down the hall behind him, but he did not care. He was paying his respects to a man that he had raised as a son, the man that had help him be better.
