Day 24 - Morning

The sun shines brightly, greeting the people of Victoria with warm temperatures and a beautiful dawn. As the sunshine envelops its citizens' homes they wake up and prepare for another day as usual, with all the good and bad things that go along with it.

Alas, something new has happened. In the border of one of the cities, a gargantuan landship is stationed. Only a few organisations and individuals knew about its coming beforehand thus to most its purpose is unknown, but nothing of worry. After all, on the side one can read a title that has become recognisable to all of Terra.

''Rhodes Island''

- ...And that should be all the we need for now. Thank you for you cooperation!

- No problem, it has been a pleasure doing business with you.

A petite girl with rabbit ears had finished some sort of deal with a local businessman, who was guarded by two highly trained bodyguards. They were there just for show, as the place he was currently in was safer than most, not even taking into account who the buyer was.

- That's done. Now, what else is missing...? - She wondered while glancing at a notepad filled with scribbles, crosses and numbers.

- Amiya, are you still working out the negotiations? You should leave it to me now, you've already done more than enough. The rest is simply waiting for deliveries, so there's not much to do but wait.

- Kalt'sit, I know you mean well, but I can handle it.

Normally the Feline would oversee any matters regarding supplies when Rhodes Island docks anywhere, only this time was an exception. Being a very busy person she wouldn't check everything by herself, and instead just strolls through the garage and areas involved in treating and managing materials, making sure everything goes along smoothly.

Logistics personnel are qualified and even if she wasn't there nothing would go wrong. However her presence is, as one of R.I medical staff who would like to stay anonimous say, unnerving. Even if she says nothing, whenever she is around everyone gives their work 110% so that she has no reason to give them an earful.

If you pay attention, you can feel the pressure in the room rise when she enters.

Kalt'sit knows this very well, and in her own words:

- As long as it isn't particularly negative what they think of me is irrelevant. In the end, its just another way of motivating  people to do their jobs well.

Only one person is inmune to this aura of dread. And who else would it be if not Amiya, Rhodes Island's leader. While Kalt'sit isn't any less imposing when talking with her, she is noticeably nicer and more relaxed in doing so. Their relationship is very important for the company's wellbeing, and thankfully they get along.

It isn't out of favoritism, despite what others think. They come across as a teacher and student, as Kalt'sit helps Amiya in the most troubling times.  Because Rhodes Island has been through a lot, and she will only face worse. She needs guidance, and for now nobody else is better suited to the task of mentor.

- I'm used to doing this sort of thing. All you should do today is take a break for a while, as we haven't had a chance to stop by a peaceful place like this in a while.

- But I told you I would take care of things today. I finished with all other personnel management already. You have your own work, and I don't want to have you worrying about me.

- Finished, you say? Coincidentally, I overheard some Operators talking about how you have rushing all over the place today. Being in such a hurry, I can't expect you to have done everything with proper care.
