After the death of Skete and Thrash, Klayton and his little pack of rebels was beginning to think they did actually stand a good chance against The Lost Pack, especially if they keep coming at them in little numbers at a time, they could pick them off little bits at a time. No one thought Crisstopher wielded that kind of brute force behind his swing to actually rip Skete's head off her shoulders, but he did. Klayton was sitting out on the edge of the deck in deep thought when Kacie ran up behind him and sat down next to him and asked him what was on his mind to keep him so distant.

Klayton snapped out of it and shook his head slightly as he told his little sister that he was seriously thinking about relinquishing his spot as Alpha of the pack, and giving it to Crisstopher, for it was a fact, that he was a stronger alpha than he could be. Kacie remained silent but shook her head in disagreement. I slid out the door after sharing a lil laugh with Sully and listened in on their conversation. I jumped over their heads and landed in the yard in front of them and told Klayton if he ever talked that kinda shit again I would kick his ass because there was no way I was going to lead or be anyone's alpha, I wasn't smart enough and I didn't have the experience, nor did I want the responsibility.

Klayton stood up and reminded me that he was merely thinking about what was best for the pack, and after that little battle with those Lost Pack members, I was what was best for the pack. I shook my head no and told him real quickly if he tried giving up his position, I would leave the pack for good. I sat down in front of him and told him that I was a great fighter and follower/friend, but there was no way in hell I was leader material. Then I leaned over toward Kacie and said I was even love material, but never will I be a leader. Kacie kissed Klayton on the cheek then rubbed her hand through my hair and said I was right and that the pack wouldn't be right without him as their alpha, brother, mentor, and friend.

Slasher was almost back at the oil rig ship when he had a bad feeling run thru him. He spun around very quickly and raced off back in the other direction as fast as he could, he didn't know what he was doing or where he thought he was heading, but his instincts of something very bad was going to happen to him if he went back to his old pack, for Zera was getting tired of her members disappearing, and if he told her that Skete and Thrash and their kid brother was all killed by a small rebel pack and that he found Brutus and six others betrayed her and joined up with the same rebel pack, he knew he would be killed over it. Slasher was by no means a coward and he was stronger than Zera, but there was no way he could fight the entire Lost Pack, he would eventually be overpowered and killed by ways of the gauntlet.

Sully and Sandy were hunting when they ran head-on right into Slasher that was running while heavy in thought and not seeing them at all until they clashed together and all three of them were knocked off their feet. Slasher jumped up quickly and got into defensive mode, snarling at them, warning them that he will defend himself against any quarry no matter if he was outnumbered or not. Sandy backed up a little bit, but Sully jumped up and right in his face giving him a return snarl letting him now he wouldn't be pushed. Sandy nudged him when she saw that neither of them really wanted to fight, and asked the strange wolf who he was, and if he was with the Lost Pack, why was he out all alone and not trying to kill them without thinking first.

Slasher backed up and sat down, as he told them he was with the Lost Pack, but after their alpha killed Skete and the other two, he decided it was safer for him to just not go back to his old alpha and tell her that 6 of her members betrayed her and that they killed her only daughter, her daughter's mate and best friend, then he stood up and began to walk away from them and told them if they were smart they would all leave and just forget trying to kill something as huge and deadly as the Lost Pack. Sandy followed him and asked him if packs were all he knew, how would he survive out there being a rogue and a traitor to something as bad and fierce as the Lost Pack.

Slasher thought on it for a while, then said when there was only one wolf, he could easily disappear, but he was insecure about being on his own, for pack life was all he did know, he's never been a solo Lobo in his life. Sully moved toward him and asked him if he'd like to join up with them and help them that he wouldn't be alone that way, and they could definitely use his help. Sandy encouraged him a little more and said he would definitely be welcome, for she seen first hand what a good fighter he was, and that Brutus and his old members would be happy to see him as well. Slash lowered his head and said he would follow and see if their pack would let him stick around. Most of their journey back to Crisstopher's house was very quiet until Slash spoke up and asked how strong their alpha was that made it possible for him to tear Skete's head completely off her shoulders.

Sully and Sandy looked at him at the same time and said simultaneously that he wasn't their alpha, that the one that did that was Crisstopher, a loyal brother to their alpha and their alpha's sisters mate, and that their alpha was Klayton. Slasher looked at them blankly for a moment and said that Crisstopher was the one that he would follow for any wolf that had the power to decapitate their enemies with one swoop, then that was his alpha. Sully snickered at him to himself then continued to take his mate and their new recruit back home.
