🐺The Howling🐺

After mom and dad brought our relatives into the pack things seemed to get a lot easier for us, every time we had a run-in with the Lost Pack we would magically win the battles. I'd like to think it was due to my parents loving guidance, and Klayton's defiant leadership skills that kept us always on top of things, but it was indeed more than that. Lucian was a huge help in training our younger members how to fight and kill by never going for the obvious kill, Lucian was once alpha material Klayton and I both noticed it, but there was something big that he was keeping secret from us all. Not even our mom knew all Lucian had been up to in the time he was away from all of his family.

Zera was growing very angered and restless indeed as she noticed how small her pack was getting, once it was over 80 members strong now it was down to maybe 50 members and all the ones that were dead, missing, or turned traitor was the ones that she had been closest too. Deep down though she knew her daughter and sister were dead because they never would've betrayed her...a few of the others, however, she knew left to join Klayton and his pack of misfits because she has seen them from a distance while hunting ways to attack without us knowing. But Slash and all the others that joined us from her pack told us all about her sneaky ways and how she fights, so we were always ready and waiting for pack attacks.

It was while Sully, myself, Klayton, Slasher, and Kacie were out checking the perimeters when out of nowhere Zera herself came out of the shadows and flawlessly attacked Sully was on his backside instantly with a huge laceration on his side, even though it wasn't a fatal blow it was going to be a painful recovery. Klayton and I were way up front talking over some pack business when Zera jumped Kacie next for she was too wrapped up in keeping her eyes on Slasher for she just refused to trust, or like him. Kacie was caught totally off guard by the attack and Zera had her by the throat so she couldn't call out for help. Zera just was about to say an eye for an eye, when Slash noticed that Kacie and Sully weren't right behind him as before and he caught Zera's scent and ran back toward it, he didn't even slightly hesitate when he saw Kacie on the ground with Zera hovering over her slowly choking the life out of her...he leaped in a blind rage and knocked Zera all the way off of Kacie, and even before Zera could find her footing to attack back, Slasher attacked her again and grabbed her by the nape of her neck and hurled her ass up against the near tree.

Without speaking to Kacie he helped her to her feet and pushed her forward and told her to run.  As Kacie was catching her breath and trying to run to where Klayton and I were still walking at a slow pace and quite in the dark of the silent attack when Slash gave out a howl to let his pack know there was a member down and he needed help. We both spun around quickly and raced toward Slash's call when we both ran into Kacie, she was tired, out of breath, and kinda pale from almost being choked out earlier, and said that Zera came out of nowhere and attacked her and she didn't know how badly Sully was hurt, but it was Slasher that saved her and told her to run. Klayton went ahead of us, while I lifted Kacie up in my arms and carried her the rest of the way until we finally caught up to where Slash was. He was weak from not only fighting Zera off, but he was carrying Sully that was hurt pretty badly and couldn't put any weight on his legs from the wound on his side.

Klayton told Slash he did real good, as he effortlessly lifted Sully from him and told him to lean on him as he carried Sully back home. I was walking on the other side of them when Kacie said she could walk the rest of the way home but was still wrapped in my arms. Before we entered the house Kacie touched Slash's arm and thanked him for saving her life, and that she never thought he would be the one to be there for her when she needed help. Slash gave her a smile and touched her hand and told her that she was his family now too, and he would fight, kill, and die for her as he would any other family member. Then he went on into the house, to lick his minor wounds from the short-lived battle.

Klayton was watching Mama D(aka Dimitra) as she was patching Sully up while telling him he was extremely lucky the wound wasn't just a little bit deeper. After she finished with him she told his mate Sandy to keep him still and warm, and he would be ok. I was in the bedroom with Kacie as she was telling me that Zera must be getting really desperate to blindly attack a group of wolves with only her, knowing she wouldn't be successful without getting killed first. I rubbed her down gently as I told her, Zera was a crazy bitch, and it was just her craziness that kept her from dying tonight, and never to underestimate the strength of crazy. But my lovely mate was also right in the matter of Zera losing her touch of reality, for it was a common fact, that both packs knew...our pack was getting larger now being at almost 40 members and her pack was now only 50 members. Soon Zera and the Lost Pack would be nothing but a bad memory...but of course not without a fight, first.
