It was the real me you never loved.
But that was okay because I put you above.
You loved my joyful act.
The one where sadness lacked.
Of course you would pick my smile over tears.
Who would want to stay when i've been sad for years.
You loved the me when someone's watching.
The one with happiness fake and sweet like ice cream toppings.
A smile as delicious as sugar.
While the inside me watched her.
The happy person she wishes she could be.
The happy person that should've been me.
Instead she's the one you loved.
But that's fine, i'll leave you above.
