Normal P.O.V. (writing in a male's point of view is hard)

I haven't felt so frightened since my dad left. The day before, I had overheard my mom and him talking and it didn't sound good. So the next day when he said he had to go out of the country on an urgent business trip, I didn't believe that was the case.

I looked up into Chris's eyes and got that same feeling of not wanting to be left behind all over again. His eyes showed shocked then anger and then... I don't know but his face paled a bit, so I take it was a bad look. "Oh" was all he said. I hated the feeling of being insecure or not knowing, so I put those feeling to the side to deal with them later.

I rubbed my face with my hands. Still silence from him..."Okay, well, I'm gonna go um..." and I started to get up.

"How long?" he asked.

I sat back down. D*mn. "A month. Well two, actually" I replied thinking this was easier than I thought it should be, being that he's usually not so easy to convince... unless he has already been told--wait a second! I looked up and glared at him. "Jessica already told you didn't she?"

Chris's POV

I let her words sink in. Sh*t! Who the hell...oh. Sh*t. "Oh" was all I could think to say, let alone get out of my mouth. Then she said, "Okay, well, I'm gonna go um..." but I could barely hear her with all the questions running through my head.

Just to prove my prediction to be correct I asked, "How long?" and with her answer, "A month. Well, two actually," all my queries where answered.

I looked at her confused for a second after she asked if that girl Jessica had told me, then I remembered the bubbly redhead. "Ha, yeah, in a way, I guess."

"I'm gonna kill that littl-" she started to threaten the girl but I had to stop her, because, I mean it wasn't really like the girl actually told me, she just hinted, in a weird riddles kind of way, that something big was up. "There's no reason to be mad at her. She didn't actually say that you were" -I swallowed hard- "pregnant. She just saved you from hearing me rant a lot."

She gave a little giggle and a small smile making me smile too. "Yeah, that's true. You would have ranted."

That wiped the smile off my face. "I would not."

"Would too," she grinned.

"You're not suppose to agree."

"But it's true."

"Whatever."

"oh, come on! You know it's true. We are alike that way, you and me. It takes a lot to convince us."

"True."

"Like for me, it took five pregnancy test, all positive mind you, three doctors and pediatricians just for me to accept the fact that I'm growing something inside of me."

I laughed with her, at this little fact she shared with me, but it quickly died down.

"I still don't believe it...." I let my words trail not knowing what to say after that. It was so surreal. Not only were we about to graduate in three weeks but our families were very good friends, as we had been, when we were children. And to top it off, I was just wanting to get to know her again. And now this? "It's just that...."

"I know I still don't either," She said in such a whisper that I could barely hear her. She took a breath letting it out as she tousled her hair. "But it's happened and I'm ready to prepare to prepare." She nodded, as if she was sure of herself, when we both knew that didn't make much sense.

I chuckled lightly. "So when are we going to tell..."

"Oh I planned on telling them when my mom comes back in like, three weeks. That should give me enough time to prepare for her ranting," She informed me, looking at nothing in particular.
