The night that Patrick got the big news about his new contract, he didn't get home until midnight. At that time I had already been waiting on him for hours to finally come home and was already sound asleep.
To my dismay, I had no idea that Patrick's new contract was going to flip our lives upside down entirely. Once all the paperwork had been signed and everything was set in stone Patrick's 'offseason' came to an end rather quickly.
Patrick's days were jam packed with training and conditioning on top of working on his passing, and incorporating new types of passes into his game. Coach Reid wanted Patrick to be perfect when training camp rolled around so that when Patrick finally worked with the team everything would run smoothly.
The reason for it all made perfect sense, but it was killing our relationship. I hardly ever got to see Patrick he was always so busy, and when I did see him he was too exhausted to do anything.
I wasn't mad at Patrick or blamed him for any of this, I knew it's what he had to do. I felt cranky because I just really missed him, and I felt like we were slowly growing apart because of all this.
Tonight was the annual season opening ball, and I was beyond excited. Patrick and I would be able to dress up, go out, and spend some quality time together.
I had already bought and picked out my dress days ago. I wanted to look sexy, I wanted to have Patrick's undivided attention all night tonight. My dress was red, and it was skin tight with tulle on the bottom. The back was open, and the front was extremely revealing. The front was open between my boobs and down into my stomach. I knew this dress was bound to get Patrick's attention.
Patrick decided to get ready at Travis' and meet me at the ball, Olivia and Sydney came over so we could all get ready together. When I got my dress on and situated on my body Olivia and Sydney looked at me with wide eyes.
"Girl, that dress is SO hot." Sydney said enthusiastically with a smile.
"That's the whole point." I stated smartly before slipping my heels on.
"Woah, what's going on Savannah? Last year you were uncomfortable in your dress, and that was nothing compared to this one." Olivia asked me worriedly. I fixed my hair and sighed before answering her question.
"Patrick and I aren't really doing so hot.." I stated sadly. Olivia and Sydney's faces immediately washed over with shock.
"What do you mean?" Sydney asked me in a confused manner.
"Ever since he got offered that contract two weeks ago everything's been so different." I stated before continuing. "We never spend any time together anymore and we really need to after everything that's happened. I just feel like Patrick doesn't have time for me anymore." I admitted honestly. Olivia and Sydney looked at me sadly as they sat next to me on my bed.
