WHAT

Keith? A traitor?! No. He couldn't.

Lance whipped his head around the gauge the other paladin's reactions. Shiro was staring stony-faced at the red paladin, his face betraying no emotion. Hunks eyes were filling with tears and disbelief. Pidge was wide-eyed and seemingly frozen. Out of the corner of his eye, Lance noticed Coran shaking his head, hand over his mouth.

Lance slammed his hands on the table, pushing his chair away as he stood.

"No way. Keith is not a traitor."

Allura rolled her eyes. "Lance sit down. He is indeed a traitor. He is part Galra."

POV CHANGE- FIRST-PERSON LANCE

"EXCUSE ME"

I couldn't believe it. Keith? I stared at the boy. He looked utterly defeated. He raised his head a little to look at me. His eyes were dull. Where was the fire? "Keith?" I asked softly. He looked away. I sat down, stunned.

Allura cleared her throat. "Keith will be locked in his room. No one is allowed to visit except some who shall deliver his food."

I saw Pidge clench her fists under the table. She was shaking. How had I only just noticed? Then she pushed her chair away and ran from the dining hall. As she ran past me I saw tears flying from her eyes. Her footsteps echoed through the Castle.

Hunks eyes were closed. As he opened them, tears began to fall. "I-I'll be in the kitchen" He also stood and fled the dining hall.

I stood again, slowly. I didn't believe it for a second. "Allura, I believe you." My voice sounded hollow to my ears. "I will deliver his meals." The princess nodded at me. Keith's shoulders slumped even more. I left the dining hall.

As I walked down the hall to my room my dark thoughts returned. You spent twenty minutes wasting their time. Useless. Screw up. You should be the one who is half-Galra. The team needs Keith. They don't need you. I shook my head and started to run, ignoring the protesting pains that shot up my legs. I ran until I was outside my room. I put in the password and fell onto the floor as the doors automatically closed behind me.

~next day~time skip brought to you by Keiths talking mullet (yes it talks now)

I was standing outside Keith's door holding a bowl of goo. His password had been deleted courtesy of Pidge. There was still a lock and only Allura, Shiro and I knew the new password. Allura and Shiro knee because they were important, they were the leaders. Me? I was just the delivery boy.
Pressing the letters G A L R A T R A S H into the keypad, I took a step back. The door opened to reveal...

Keith was sitting on his bed, staring at the ground. He looked so sad and depressed and I felt bad for him. Besides, he couldn't really be part Galra. Right?
"Hey, buddy!" I tried to act cheery and pranced into his room holding the bowl as though I was a waiter in a fancy restaurant. "Breakfast is served"
Keith looked at me. "Lance?" he asked. I dropped my act immediately. His voice sounded cracked and broken. He was broken. "Hey Keith"
"Lance," he said again. "Lance you aren't safe here." I frowned and sat down on his bed next to him. I placed the bowl of goo in his hands and stretched out my long legs. "Whaddya mean buddy? I know you aren't really part Galra. That's impossible"

There was silence. I turned my head to look at the boy next to me. Tears glistening, formed at the edges of his purple eyes and rolled down his cheeks. I panicked, "KEITH?! OMG buddy please talk to me. I know we aren't close and I know I've been horrible to you and you probably hate me right now and"
"What?" Keith cut off my rambling. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Lance, I don't hate you, never have never will. But you will hate me."
I frowned, "Keith please tell me why"
His fingers tightened around the bowl in his hands and then he jumped to his feet and the bowl slipped from his grasp, fists clenched, he screamed.
"I AM PART GALRA"
