The next few days, Remus tried to avoid Sirius as much as possible. There was the odd time where Sirius' gaggle of girls would tail him and Remus would see Sirius running towards him. Usually to take hold of his hand or a give him a kiss on the cheek. But most of the day Remus could get away with shrugging Black off and saying he was going to the library.

The rest of the Marauders knew about their fake relationship (although Lily knew Remus wished it was real) and James had suggested they go to Hogsmeade at the weekend to show Sirius' 'fan club' as he'd put it, that he really was absolute, most definitely, taken.

Remus had been slightly against the idea but the look of hope on Sirius' face made him give in completely.

They were walking down the street, hand-in-hand, with Peter and James strolling next to them. Lily was studying back at school with Severus, much to James' annoyance.

When Remus spotted Sirius' entourage, he put an arm around Sirius' waist, breaking hands and pulling him close. He lightly kissed him on the head.

Sirius, who hadn't spotted the girls yet, looked up at Remus questioningly. "What are you doing, Moony?" A spark of hope tainted his voice as he spoke.

"Well, do you want it to be convincing? After all, that was the whole point of this trip." Remus' voice was quiet, making sure they weren't being overheard.

"What?" Sirius looked away from Remus' face and saw the girls stood by the Three Broomsticks. They waved at him enthusiastically. "Oh," he said, looking at his feet.

Were you actually just that stupid. Merlin, Sirius like he would do something like that if the girls weren't there.

"What's wrong?" Remus stopped walking, pulling Sirius round to face him by the arm.

"Nothing, nothing. The attention's annoying that's all."

Remus thought Sirius looked stupidly good at this moment, his hair especially. It was down and being occasionally messed up by the wind. His gaze wandered over Sirius' face which was a mix between sadness and confusion. And then he looked down to Sirius' lips. They looked cold from the harsh weather, yet still inviting, and Remus couldn't contain the need to kiss him any longer.

"Then-" it came out as barely a whisper due to how close they were standing "- if they're going to watch, let's give them something really worth looking at." He leaned forward and pressed his lips against Sirius'. His hands traced down to the small of Sirius' back, pulling him closer.

Sirius' hands had just moved up to Remus' neck when Remus pulled away. He glanced to the side of the pub where the 'fanclub' was stood. Sure enough, all six of the girls were now stood, mouths open.

"That was some kiss, you guys." James laughed from behind them.

He was right. Whatever doubts people had about Sirius being gay were excluded now.

Remus looked at Sirius, smiling slightly. Unable to find the right words, he nodded towards the door of the pub and Sirius took his hand as a yes. They walked in together.

Whilst it was only meant to be for show, both boys were unable to wipe the sappy grins plastered on their faces as they walked to find a table.

Remus felt strangely happy that he had finally been able to kiss Sirius, and that he was kissed back. But then...It was all for show stupid. It hadn't been real. Even if it was real for Remus, he knew it couldn't have been the same for Sirius. Just for show. They had to sell the kiss, that was the only reason Sirius had kissed him. There wasn't even a chance that Sirius would feel the same.

(Yet from across the table, Sirius Black sat there thinking very similar thoughts. He was very unaware that Remus was wishing with his whole heart, for feelings to be the reason he was kissed.)
