The scent of gunpowder filled the air as a blond male sighed when he had hit the target. Hitting targets had never really been a problem to him as long as he imagined it to be that he had to shoot something in order to protect something important.

Yet the gun shot always made him flinch even though he was the one pulling the trigger.

He decided that this was enough practice, deciding that he should start investigating the July case.

After quickly cleaning everything up, he hurried to the center and entered the room where all the files were kept, seeing a familiar blond female standing there as she looked up from her files, smiling softly when he recognized the blonde male.

"Ah, Sou-kun! I rarely see you here, do you need something?", she asked as the male nodded. "A-Ah yes... I wanted to ask if I could look at the files of the July case. I have been curious about it so I wanted to read through it a bit.", Sou answered as the blond female looked at him surprised.

"The July case? You are usually not really interested in the cases, right? Is there a reason for you to suddenly want to investigate one?", Lon asked as she stood up nevertheless, searching through the files from behind.

Police officers could read through the files if they wanted to. It's just that some information couldn't be given unless they belonged to a division which allowed them to.

"I-I'm really just curious... A-and I thought that we might be able to find Mafumafu-san if we solve this...", Sou said with a sad smile as the female gave him a sympathetic look.

"We don't know wether Mafu-kun was captured by Higanbana yet. But if that is the case, let's all do our best alright?", Lon said as the blond male nodded before he was given the files, quickly thanking the blonde female before opening them and looking into it.

"Let's see... the murder victim was Okami... the assaulter was Sato... Okami was stabbed into the heart while Sato claimed to have protected him through self-defense... Okami had attacked him first and now the third party stands under suspicion...

According to Okami, he only wanted to protect the third party from Sato who was stalking the victim... Soon after that... Sato had also been killed, a roman number painted next to him....

I see... The third party's name is Senra and he stands under the suspicion of belonging to Higanbana... The address is stated here as well... So—"

"Rabbit-san? What are you reading?", a familiar soft voice asked as the younger male yelped in surprise when he suddenly felt someone standing so close to him. "Hya?! E-e-eve-san?", Sou exclaimed as he jumped away, the older male giving him a smile. "Hello, Rabbit-san."

"W-what are you doing here?", Sou asked as the mushroom-haired male tilted his head before answering. "I was thinking of eating lunch before I saw you, looking concentrated while reading something. I was curious so I decided to see what you were doing.", Eve explained. "I-I see..."
