My Hero Academia: One Shots Edition!

Deku x Reader Angst

This one made my heart feel so many things! Omg, okay. T_T
Sorry for the late updates, been really busy, but I have so many ideas! Can't wait to get them out for you guys ^-^

--Lost love--

You sit quietly on your bed as you fold a few of your shirts into your bag. You finally graduated from UA with your friends and you were off to join an agency that offered you a sidekick position. You were very excited about it, but you weren't sure how to tell Izuku, your boyfriend, that it was all the way on the other side of the country. Miles and miles away from him. You'd thought about this for months on end, dreading the day that you had to tell him. The days passed, and you never got around to it. Today had to be the day.

You took a shakey breathe in as you zipped your bag and placed it on the floor beside you. You shifted on the bed to look out the window. It was raining pretty hard, but that didn't stop your silly boyfriend from training out there. It looked like he was almost done, so you knew this had to be the time to tell him. He had to know. He deserved to know.

You grabbed your phone and unlocked the screen. You dialed the number you'd grown to memorize. The one you knew you could call any time you had a problem, or when you just needed someone to talk to. You pressed the phone to your ear as you looked back down at Izuku. You saw him pull out his phone, a goofy smile crossing his face.

"Hey, Hunny!" He said happily.

"Izuku, uhm. Can you come to my room? We need to talk." you asked him. You couldn't control the waver in your voice.

"Of course. Is everything okay?" He responded. You turned away from the window and sat on your bed, pressing your back to the wall as you closed your eyes.

"I-" You cut yourself off. "Just. I'll explain when you get here."

"Okay. I'll be up in a minute." You didn't say anything else as you hung up the phone. Your nerves were all over the place. A million scenarios ran through your mind as you waited for him to come up. It seemed like you waited forever, giving your mind more time to run wild with concern and worry for the situation that had yet to unfold.

When Izuku did get to your room, he let himself in only to see you on the bed with your knees pressed to your chest. His eye brows furrowed as he closed the door behind him.

"(Y/N)? What's wrong?" He asked you as he came to sit on the bed in front of you. One of his legs dangled off the edge as the other one rested underneath him. He leaned onto one of his hands while the other rested on your knee.

"I got a job." You spit out. It sounded forced and like you were unsure of yourself, something Izuku wasn't used to.

"That's wonderful!" He told you, a smile growing on his face. It quickly faded once he saw that you weren't entirely thrilled. "Why aren't you happier?"

"It's.. across the country. I fly out tomorrow." You whispered. Izuku looked at you in shock as he processed what you'd said.

"Oh." He said. His tone dropped to match yours as he realized what that would mean for your relationship.

"I can't turn down this opportunity, but I love you so much and I want to stay with you." You told him. Tears formed in your eyes as you talked.

"We can.. we can make this work. I can fly out to see you and you can come home sometimes!" He suggested. You thought for a moment.

"I just don't see how a relationship can work for the type of heros we're setting out to be, Izuku." You whispered as you looked down at your hands. It was true. He knew this deep in his heart to be true. You both did. Izuku wanted to be a high profile hero. He wanted to save anyone and everyone. He wanted to be exactly like All Might. You, however, wanted a job somewhere in a small town. You wanted a lower profile.

"I don't want to lose you." He said. His voice wavered slightly as he looked at you. The tears that formed in your eyes threatened to spill as you both stared at each other. You positioned yourself to be sitting on your knees. You placed a hand on Izuku's face and leaned your forehead to rest gently against his.

"You have a piece of me forever, Izuku." You whispered. Izuku let out a gentle sob as he hesitated to put a hand on your waist. Tears spilled from your eyes as you closed them, also letting a soft sob escape your lips.

"I love you, (Y/N).." he whispered as he gently closed the distance between your lips and gave you a soft kiss. It was a long one, like he never wanted it to end, but he eventually pulled away. He pulled your into an even longer hug.

When he pulled away from you, he quickly stood up from the bed and made his way out of the room, gently closing the door behind him. As you stared at the door, you slowly began to have a break down.

"I love you too.." you whispered

It's been two years since you last saw or heard from Izuku. You'd seen him on the news a few times and kept up with articles about him, saving every single one you'd come in contact with. Something impulsed you to keep it as a way to honor the man that you loved.

You climbed the ranks of your agency and eventually was offered to be a hero of your own branch of the agency. You accepted this opportunity without a doubt in your mind or heart.

Izuku, from what you'd last heard, opened his own agency and has hired on a lot of new people. He has slowly been climbing the ranks of the hero billboard, resting at about rank fifteenth for the past few months. You felt an overwhelming level of happiness for you lost Love.

You were currently packing a few outfits so you could come home for your little friend reunion that Jirou and Mina put together. You were very excited to see everyone and you were planning on staying for about a week. Mina was stationed somewhere that was maybe four hours from you, so the two of you planned to fly out together.

When you met up with her she hugged you tightly and squealed loudly, catching the attention of a few people around us. A couple of people came over to ask for a picture or an audiography which the two of you happily accepted. Most of them were for Mina however, considering the lower profile you maintained.

The flight was filled with you and Mina chatting about anything and everything. She didn't mention the people that would be meeting you at the air port however. Once the two of you exited the hallway, you saw a familiar group of friends. Kirishima, Bakugou, Denki, Iida, and Jirou. The two of you ran over to greet everyone. As you hugged Denki and Kirishima you glanced past them to see a green haired boy sitting in a chair with his head bowed and his elbows resting gently on his knees. One of his knees bounced uncontrollably.

You pulled away from the boys and moved past them to go to Izuku.

"Hey, stranger." You whispered. He looked up at you with wide eyes.

"(Y/N)?" He asked quietly. You smiled at him. He stood to his feet and pulled you into a tight hug. You tightly hugged him back. You didn't realize how much you'd missed him.

"I missed you so much.." you whispered.

"I missed you too, my love.." he whispered back.
