It was a pretty quiet night in the dorms. Everyone was cramming for exams so they were either down stairs where you couldn't hear them, or quietly studying in their own rooms. While you knew you needed to be studying for your own exams, you were feeling drained from everything that had been going on lately. There was still backlash from other classes about the USJ attack, not to mention all the extensive training and precautions due to the attack.

All in all, you were mentally and physically exhausted. Nothing seemed worth putting effort into today. You had felt it building up for a while now, but today it was when you felt it the worst. You felt like if you tried to even do one productive thing you would completely break. Even if it were just opening your textbook to try and study.

That being said, you didn't feel bad for changing into your comfy pajamas and laying in bed on your phone, your blankets tightly wrapped around you. While this is something you normally did to relax, the weight of your responsibilities were still there. They were still heavy on your chest and ever persistent in your mind.

You sighed heavily as you rubbed your face and brought the blankets closer to your chest. Everything felt so heavy right now.

An hour or two passed by without you. You felt trapped in the moment, as if there were no way out of the spiral that you were in. You couldn't help but think what Todoroki would be doing right now. He's also been really busy with his studies and you haven't been able to spend as much time as you'd like with him. You would never think of taking time away from his studying because you knew it was important to him, but it also strained your relationship.

You closed your eyes gently, letting the heaviness take over your body. As the minutes ticked past, you felt more than just the heaviness of your responsibilities on your mind. You started having intrusive thoughts as well.

You thought about how some things would be a lot easier if you could just disappear. Or how much you wanted the pain to end that you'd do anything to make it stop.

Tears formed in your eyes as you thought about these things and your lip began to tremble.

For the first time in what felt like forever, you cried. All the tears and frustrations that have been building up burst through the dam that held them.

After a while, the only thing you felt was numb.

This was around the time you heard a knock on your door. You sighed gently, hoping that if you ignored it they would just go away.

But that wasn't in your favor tonight.

The door creaked open letting a stream of light into the room. You curled tighter into your blankets as you tried to hide your face from the brightness.

The door closed again. You thought that maybe they saw you laying here and thought you were asleep. You hoped that was the case.

You knew it wasn't when you felt the bed shift and a body curl into yours. A hand brushed away your hair. Your body relaxed almost instantly at the touch. All the tension that you were holding oozed out of your body. You didn't shift away. You knew there could only be one person who calmed you so easily.

"Hunny. Are you okay?" The voice asked. You turned to face Shoto, your boyfriend of a few months now. He hovered over you, his arm supporting his weight as he did. The hand that was brushing your hair shifted to stroke your cheek with his thumb.

You tried to smile softly, but your lip trembled. You sucked in your low lip and sighed.

"What's wrong?" He asked you. You blinked away the tears that were forming as you turned your attention to the ceiling. If you looked at him any longer you knew you were going to start crying again.

"I.. I don't know." You whispered. He lowered his body onto the bed and turned you over to face him. His arm wrapped around your waist as he held you closely.

"What's. Wrong." he responded. Although his voice sounded persistent, it didn't sound demanding or harsh. You studied his face as the tears rushed down your face again.

"I feel so suffocated." Your words caught in your throat as a sob escaped your lips. "I feel like I have all this work to do and all of these responsibilities but I can't even get out of this bed."

He gently pulled you into his chest as you began crying again. He ran his hand down your hair as his other arm found its way under you to hold you closer.

"Shhhhh.. It's okay, my love.. You're okay." He told you. He continued to sooth you in similar manners as you cried. You clung tightly to his shirt.

After a few moments, your sobs were softer and less breath taking, but the tears were still rushing down your face.

"Hey.. look at me." He pulled away from you and looked into your eyes. He gently pushed the tears aside with his sleeve.

"You are the strongest person I know. You are beautiful and smart and wonderful. This is just a moment in time where your body is telling you to slow down. And that is okay." He told you. You nodded your head.

"You are going to make it through this and when you do the world is not going to know what hit it."

You nodded your head again.

"But for now, let's just lay here together. Ride out those feelings. Let the world be heavy. I will be right here to help you if it gets to be too much, so do not ever be afraid to reach out for me, my love." He rested his forehead against yours as he spoke his words.

Just hearing him tell you all of these things made you feel a little better. The heaviness seemed to lift just a little bit and you felt like you could breathe again. While the feeling wasn't completely gone, it didn't make you feel scared anymore. Or alone.

"Thank you.." You whispered. Shoto smiled at you.

"Of course." He responded. He sighed deeply and pulled you close again. You rested your head on his chest and listened to his heart beat, which furthered your calmness.

"Why don't you get some rest, and then we will begin our war with the world tomorrow." He told you. You looked up at him with a a raised eyebrow.

"We?" You asked him.

"Of course. Your battles are not yours alone, (Y/N). Not while I am by your side." He responded. You smiled softly. You gently placed your head on his chest and closed your eyes.

Shoto softly hummed in your ear as he traced circles on your back and occasionally played with your hair.

All you could think about as you fell asleep was how much you loved Shoto and how much his words meant to you.

It would just be you and him.

Facing the world.

Together.
