Jesus it's been a while since the last part of this storyline. Well this is probably the finale of heart rivalry.

Angst alert! Fluff too

Third PoV;

After several months past, peters health noticeably deteriorated. He had a year at max to live and within the first half, he was practically begging for it to end. It was now the seventh month and Peter was (as always) in constant agonising pain. He mainly stayed curled up in Tony's lap, resting against said mans chest. He stayed at the tower constantly now, his aunt visiting when she can. He had to stay there as he needed to be monitored at all times and he couldn't do that in his apartment.

Whenever Tony went out on missions, at least one avenger would stay behind; sometimes Pepper or Rhodey, who didn't go on as many missions as the others, would stay with him.

Everyone knew peters time was almost up, so they cherished the little amount they did have. He'd already had multiple surgeries to try and help but it wasn't working.

Peters PoV:

I woke up today with a feeling of dread in my veins. I knew today was the day. I could barely lift myself up into a sitting position, my chest hurt so much.

I had two IV's in my left arm and an oxygen cannula up my nose. I also had chest pads on to monitor my heart rate. I felt so weak as of recent and was always in pain. Well I suppose today I finally got what I wanted...for the pain to stop. But no the day was here, I was terrified. I didn't want to go! I had so much to live for still: to get married, to go to university, to have kids, to be a proper avenger and so much more. But I wouldn't get to, that's just how life worked. It was unfair to everyone.

Thankfully everyone was home today, so I could spend my last few hours with those I held dear.

I heard a knock on the door and I managed to rasp out to whoever it was to come in. The door opened to reveal a tired looking Tony.

"Hey bub, how are you feeling today?" He asked with a soft smile.

"B-bad...my ch-chest hurts a lot...I-I just want it to
s-stop..." I whispered.

His face softened as he walked over.

"You wanna come and sit in the lounge with the rest of us today bubba?"

I nodded painfully and shakily pulled the cannula from my face and took the covers off my small body. I slowly hauled my legs off the edge of the bed and went to stand. As I did, I felt two strong and warm hands scoop me up.

"Tony!" I yelped.

He chuckled and pressed a firm kiss to my forehead as he set me on his hip. My legs instinctively wrapped around his waist and my arms around his neck like a toddler.

"There is no way in letting you walk, I know you hate being dependant but sometimes you have to be. Also you're light as a feather so don't even try to argue that you're too heavy."

He held one hand under my legs and one on my back as he walked out of the room, after removing the IV's and instead putting a cannula in my hand in case.

He walked out into the lounge area to reveal the others watching tv on the sofa. He sat down in the middle of Nat and Steve. Nat on his left and Steve in his right, me still on his lap. I didn't even bother trying to free myself from his bear grip as I knew not only was I far too weak but also because I found comfort in his strong arms. His rough and calloused but soothing hands rubbing circles on my shaking form.
