Peters POV:

I bolted up right in my bed, clutching my chest as I recalled my nightmare. Well if you could call it that. It was more of a memory. A terrible one at that.

It was a painful memory from when I was only 9 years old.

Flashback- Blood/gunshots

A newly 9 year old boy rushed down the stairs, a big smile lighting up his face. He ran into the small kitchen where his Aunt may and uncle Ben were.

"Morning aunt may, uncle Ben!" Young peter chirped cheerfully.

The adults chuckled and replied. Ben lent over to his nephew and ruffled the ridiculously soft brown curls that lay on top of the boys glowing face.

"Hey squirt, happy 9th birthday!"

Peter grinned up at his uncle, "thanks Uncle Ben!"

The young boy turned to his aunt, who was cooking pancakes to the best of her ability - trying desperately not to burn them. It wasn't her forte.

"Can you believe it's my ninth birthday aunt may!" Peter squealed.

His aunt laughed and turned to the excited child.

"Yeah, your so big now! I can't believe it's been so many years already!" She smiled down at her young nephew, completely forgetting about the now burning pancakes.

"Er May darling...the foods burning...I think." Ben squeaked in fear of the terrifying woman.

Mays head whipped back to the food and she cursed under her breath.

"Oops... sorry Petey." She looked down at him with an apologetic glance. The brunette merely grinned at her and waved off her apology, choosing to instead play outside with Ben at the park.

Ben and Peter were just about to head back home when they heard a scream. Ben quickly pulled the nine year old behind him and scanned the area with his eyes.

He was just about to pass it of as a young child playing when he saw it. A man with fiery red hair and cold blue eyes was waving a gun around in the air, clearly heavily drunk.

Ben, who is a police officer, quickly intervened.

"Hello sir, drop your weapon in the ground immediately. I am officer Parker." Ben told the man.

The red head merely threw his head back and chuckled a dry laugh. It sounded slurred, much like his rough mocking voice.

"Oh nooooo t-theee officerrrrrs gon-gonnaa getttt meeee!" He mock cowered under the gaze of the off duty officer.

"Uncle Ben? Can we go home...I'm scared..." Peter whispered. The armed man heard the boys plea and smirked evilly. He lifted up the gun and turned off the safety.

Bens eyes widened and he shouted for Peter to move.

"PETER!"

But it was too late, Bens eyes widened further in horror as he saw red begin to deep through his young nephews white top.

The gunman sprinted out of the park as fast as possible.

Peter looked down at his chest in shock, the entire top half of his shirt was already drenched in crimson liquid.
