Despite only having been sitting on the floor for a few minutes, a dull ache already began to settling into my lower back. I wasn't used to sitting with such improper posture, one that portrayed submissive. I stood tall, displaying my height, shoulders back with confidence and power, the hunched form going against everything in my nature. Though, if it meant my mate felt safe enough with my posture to look me in the eye, rewarding me with her gaze, I could suffer through the temporary pain for her attention brought me the upmost pleasure.
Once her muscles relaxed, her body curving more into the wall rather than leaning against it with rigidity, it made him relax more as well. Although she was hidden from the light, shrouded in the darkness, the iridescent tapetum his my eyes permited to look upon her, and he could not. He was absolutely infatuated with the freckles dotting her face. The more he focused on them, the more he tried to map out constellations he knew, the favorites that he could recall being visualized over her already artwork like skin.
He could not deny that his eyes did not wonder, taking in her small frame which called upon his protective nature. The almost see though apparel she adorned also did not fit her well, sliding off her shoulder, revealing more of her pale skin and night sky skin. Her freckles thinned out as they slid down her neck but seemed to come together again at her shoulder and he couldn't help but map them out again. When his eyes wondered again, they skipped over her chest, not wanting in to invade her privacy. He has yet to gain her affections and permission to obtain the right to look at her more intimate areas. As they slid down her slender arms, more of her stars greeted him and he appreciated every single one. When he got to the bend of her arm, what he thought were more, he was perplexed at different color. They were circular in shape yet they white and red, rather than the tan brown color he had come to appreciate.
Those unusual marks caught his attention, yet it nowhere compared to the feeling of her eyes on his exposed skin. It felt like a gentle caress without truly being touched, as if kissed by the wind or the rays of the moon and sun. The bond, not yet formed, or even completely there, pulled him towards her, but a barrier stood in there way. If her wolf were not there, she would not feel the bond as strongly as he did, or even at all and with her fears, he did not want to approach her yet he craved it simultaneously. He wanted more of her.
"το όνομά μου." I waited for her eyes to meet my again. Lifting my hand, I placed it on my chest, "My name Arias." Her eyes gave him quick up and down look, as if trying to fit his name to him. "You know you name?" I tried asking, placing my hand back down to play with the other. I got no response, just another long look from her golden eyes.
A knock on the door sounded and I instantly straighten on high alert. The ends of my hair stood, the taste of a threat lingering in the air, a potential fight. "Arias? It's Dr. Rhea." She announced through the closed door that served as a barrier between them. "May I come in?" I relaxed a bit but I was still on a dangerous edge as I vocalized his response.
As the door opened, he could smell Osian lingering outside of the door as the doctor came in, respecting that I could not handle another male presence at the moment. The healer made her way in but kept her distance. She look around the room but didn't comment, afraid for another one of his outbursts. He may be on the floor but they both knew that he had the upper hand.
"I heard she was awake." She spoke after clearing her throat and I nodded.
"Under bed." Noticing his change in posture, she curled back into herself once more, only the top of her eyes visible. He forced himself to hunch over again but his muscles remained tense, prepared to do anything if needed.
Eyeing the bloody needle that was once in her patients arm, she pulled it down and began to throw the contaminated needle away. "I will need to insert a new IV and start her on nutrients. I also suspect she will need more fluids." She all but spoke to herself as she began grabbing medical supplies.
