Cordelia had woken up in the back of a moving vehicle, most likely a pick-up truck, with a tarp covering her. Zip ties held back her arms and legs, with a rag stuffed into her mouth.

She wiggled around, her black hair messy with dirt and knots. How long had she been out?

She wiggled closer to the end of the pick-up truck, trying to shove open the back so she could roll out and attempt to getaway.

"Morning Sunshine!"

Cordelia could barely hear the mans voice over the radio, which had been blasting in her ears.

"No use trying to escape. Now I'm going to go get us some food, you stay there and be quiet if you want to eat."

Cordelia froze. Her stomach was grumbling by now, and she didn't know if she should try to escape while he was gone or be obedient to get free food.

She must have spent too long thinking because, by the time she made up her mind, he had returned with food.

The man pulled out a knife and cut her hands free of the zip ties, which she quickly rubbed her wrists. They were bruised from how tight they had been on her wrists.

"Here, eat up. We'll be there in a few days."

She hesitantly grabbed the food he gave her. McDonald's.

She stuffed her face with the fries and the nuggets he had gotten her, but still saved some for later.

Hours had passed now, and it was getting dark and cold. She nibbled on some cold fries and nuggets as hunger gnawed at her again. Her throat burned and felt like it was filled with sand.

He hadn't stopped in awhile now.

Cordelia hugged herself, trying to keep warm as it got darker and darker.

When she could no longer see her own hands in front of her, the man stopped again. This time he returned with a couple of blankets and a pillow, along with two bottles of water.

"Here. Even though I don't plan to keep you, you might as well still be taken care of."

She wrapped herself in the blankets, enjoying how warm they were.

Cordelia set down the pillow, opened one of the bottles of water, and chugged almost all of it before she put the cap back on and put it somewhere beside her.

She laid down her head, and closed her eyes, drifting off into sleep.
