It had been three days now that Jeff had been driving.
He hated every second of it, but every time he went to kill her while she slept, her singing made him stop and drop his knife and just leave her alone.
Sure, Slendy had told him to kill her or bring her to him, but something was off. Why was he so interested in this girl?
He prayed that it wasn't going to be another incident like with Elli. He would be even more humiliated.
The roads were bumpy and filled with potholes, leaving Jeff annoyed.
He knew that he would have to find her food soon.
That was the hardest part, getting her food without revealing his identity as a serial killer. But it was necessary.
He pulled a mask over his scarred face, locking the car and making sure that Cordelia was asleep.
Once he was sure she was passed out, he walked towards a gas station, buying himself a Pepsi and buying Cordelia a bag of chips.
He wasn't too pleased with the price that was added with refueling the pick-up but he still had another couple of hours before he made it back to slender woods.
"Thank you and have a good day." The cashier smiled, obviously strained.
Jeff had tossed the bag of chips into the back beside Cordelia, who had now woken up. She didn't look at him in the eyes, but he didn't really care. All he cared about was getting back to the mansion and spending time with Mabel.
---
Cordelia was awoken by a bright light and the man tossing a bag of chips at her face. She ignored it, still groggy, and fell back asleep.
Cordelia was jolted awake by the man grabbing her and throwing her over his shoulder. She pounded her hands against his back, confused and terrified.
She had her hands zip-tied again and was laid onto a wooden floor. Surrounding her was many terrifying figures, all of whom were famous serial killers.
Cordelia's heart began to race as she realized this is most likely where she was going to die.
A strange-looking pale figure approached. He was tall, very tall. He had long, spindly limbs with a featureless face.
"Hello, child."
Cordelia's breathing became labored and her heart raced so much it hurt. "Please leave me alone."
"We're not here to harm you, Cordelia. In fact, Jeffrey was sent to either kill you or save you. How he was able to not kill you amazes me. Did you fight back?"
The same man, now known as Jeffrey, stepped forward.
"It's actually quite odd. She didn't really fight back at all. Whenever I tried to kill her when she slept, her singing made me stop. It was almost hypnotizing."
The tall figure thought for a moment, letting out a low hmmm sound as it thought.
"Ah, I know what it is now. How could I not realize?"
Everyone looked to the slender figure, Cordelia with a frightened gaze.
"She must be the Siren's daughter. You see, many years ago, the Greek god of the ocean Poseidon fell in love with many mortal women. The result made his wife angry, so she turned them all into Sirens. Sirens lure men into the ocean where they feast upon them. One day, Poseidon fell in love with one of the Sirens, and because of his wife's wrath, he turned the Siren into a human. That Siren was your mother. You see, Poseidon's wife killed your mother the day I sent Jeffrey to fetch you. I'm so sorry."
Cordelia was shriveling up, tears falling. She was a Siren's child? Poseidon's child? Did she get herself spared from being murdered with her singing?
"Cordelia, please calm down. Let me finish, for your sake. You see, Poseidon intends to use you to take over our realm. He knows we exist, and we are the one thing stopping him from ruling the land as well. The only way we can defeat him is if we fight him. This means that he's coming for you, soon. We'll need to train you to control your powers."
Cordelia couldn't handle all this information shot at her. She had powers?
Before she knew it, she fainted.
