Chapter 21: Born Normal

It ended with the sound of cars outside her window.

It was over... it was finally over...

Or was it really?

Funneh woke up in her bed. It was morning in Canada. The chilling air seeped into her bedroom as she shuddered slightly at the exposure.

Wow...weird dream.. Funneh yawned, eyes dreary with sleep.

It was spring vacation.. right?

Funneh frowned, there was something bugging her. And it felt strange.

"Was it a dream..?" She muttered to herself, scratching her head.

Funneh got out of bed, "Did they really find out..?"

She didn't know these conflicting feelings. Was she relieved? Could she live a regular life, no secrets, just the truth?

No.

She couldn't.

And she couldn't allow this.

Funneh was told to use this when she needed to the most.

And she thought this was needed the most.

She yanked off her KREW necklace, placing the triangle on her bedside drawer. The top of the table scanned the necklace - and a small golden clock was exerted from a small opening near the back, hidden from sight.

Funneh opened the clock to see the seconds hand ticking by. The hour and minute hands progressed slower than the latter.

And so, carefully, Funneh started to turn the hour hand back, day by day, the world outside swirled and turned. She felt herself going through a series of emotions, anger, grief, sadness, happiness.

Bruises spread on her body as fast as they disappeared, the room she sat in herself seemed to change, objects morphed into different belongings, her own knowledge was starting to depreciate until-

Clang

The room was bare.

A couple rushed in.

A woman with a man. The woman held a small bundle of blankets in her arms, with the sound of crying heard.

"What was that?" she demanded, "I could've sworn I heard something fall..."

The man stared at the watch laid on the floor, bending down to pick it up, "It's my grandfather's watch! Wonder why it's been doing here." 

"Mommy?"

Behind the adults was a girl with bright blue hair and azure eyes. "What was that?"

The baby swollen in blankets cried.

"Shh, Allen..." the mother sang quietly. The father smiled and bent down to his daughter's level.

"It was just the watch," he spoke softly.

"Whoa..." Kat marveled, examining the golden trinket.

He laughed, "Would you like to have it?"

Kat glanced up with large, adoring eyes, "Can I?"

Her father chuckled, placing the clock in his daughter's hands, "Yes. Use it when you need it most."

"Thank you, thank you!"

"No problem, Funneh, let's get going now. We still need to unpack," he grinned, carrying his daughter up with a squeal, setting her on his shoulders. Kat squealed with glee.

The mother smiled softly, humming to baby Allen.

"We're here again, aren't we little one?" she hummed. Allen giggled and reach up for his mother. She smiled wider, eyes full with joy.

"Ah, you truly were born different."

In fact I've finished prologue for book 2! The second book is also a sort of rewrite of this one, but it's DEFINITELY different asjdhjksad
