I felt my heels hit the hard pavement. I looked up and was entranced by how magical this place was. There were hanging lights all around the town houses. People all over laughter and chatter filling the air. It was absolutely amazing. Everything about this just felt right. There were people sitting outside on chairs having food and they all looked...happy.
I turned to look at everyone else; they were all looking at me. I must've looked really foreign then.
"It's okay that was my reaction as well, When I first saw this place." Said Feyre.
"It's beautiful." I said.
She smiled at me. I returned the sentiment.
"Okay the bar is right around the corner. Let's go." Said Rhysand.
I was about to step forward when I realized my hand was still interlocked with Azriel's. I looked up at him to see he was also looking at me. I dragged my gaze away from his and slowly pulled my hand out of his. I followed the rest of the group. He followed not long after me.
It was Nesta who came up next to me. "So do you like what you see so far." She asked.
"What's not too like." I replied.
"True."
There was a silence and then I asked. "So are you and Cassian like a thing." I knew it wasn't any of my business but I was trying to make conversation.
"Why are you interested in him?" She asked innocently.
"NO" I said laughing. "You guys just seem...close."
"He's my...mate." She said.
Mate what was that. "What's a mate."
"Oh right well... a mate is someone who's like your other half. Like someone who was born to be with you." She said while gazing at the warriors back with such burning love in her eyes. I secretly hoped someone would look at me like that one day. "Everyone has one," She continued. "Some people never find theirs. I was lucky enough to find mine so was Feyre. Cassian helped me get through a really rough time in my life. He changed me for the better." Her eyes showing pain and agony probably recollecting painful memories.
"Wow. We don't have those. You can find someone who makes you happy but a mate...someone can only dream to find their other half." I said looking down.
"Well who knows you may just find your mate." She said smiling.
"My mate-" I scoffed. "They'll have to work extra hard to find someone who'd deal with me."
She laughed. We rounded the corner and to the right side was a building named The bar of dreams. "Rhysand and Feyre built this bar and then gave it to one of their friends to run." Nesta whispered next to me.
I nodded in understanding. A bar. I drink more actually then I would like to admit. Would the drinks be the same around here or were they stronger. We all walked in and the waiter at the front of the door sat us down immediately.
The place was fancier than your average bar. It had white counter marble tops on all the tables. There were paintings all over the room a lot like the ones at the estate. There were several workers and it was pretty packed. There was also a stage with a piano on it and a mic set. They had karaoke night here too ? I'm guessing it was also a restaurant because the smell of spices coming from the kitchen doors made my mouth water.
A woman was walking up to the table. She was pretty. She had a huge smile on her face and the smile disappeared as she turned to Rhysand. First thing she said was "Rhysand thank god Feyre is in your life now because without her you'd be a mess. Feyre sweetie do you know what this male did he sent a guard here to check up on me" She said with such disgust I thought she was going to rip Rhysand's head off. "I don't need a damn guard. When you gave me this place too run I told you to stay out of it and you do the exact opposite."
