I approached hogwarts and walk through these great big doors made of oak wood. In front of me was thousands of bright happy smiles and contagious laughter which made my ears ring, like a doorbell continuously being pressed. I look back to see all of my first year classmates, exitied to make new friends but before I could say a word to anyone I was interrupted by a slim man with a long grey beard and long grey hair almost the same length as mine, he seemed very old like 100 maybe even 200, after all, anything's possible in the wizarding world. "hello new student and old ones returning welcome back and welcome to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, may the first years please approach the sorting hat. you will be sorted into your houses." Mcgonagall polietly took over and said "they're griffindor, ravenclaw, hufflepuff, and slytherin." Slowly one by one everyone's name was called to step forward and face the sorting hat, I was desperately hoping for slytherin, I didn't want to disappoint my mother and I always knew my father would have wanted me to be in slytherin. however many times mother said she wouldn't be upset if I wasn't in slytherin, I always knew she was lying. "Pansy Parkinson you may now take a seat under the sorting hat." mcgonagall said. There goes my bestfriend, we've been bestfriends ever since I pulled a prank on her when we were 3. we were always close anyway because of our parents but at that moment when she laughed I knew we would be bestfriends. and with a great big rumble the sorting hat said "SLYTHERIN!"
I wasn't suprised really, I always knew she would be slytherin.
*10 minutes later*
"Harry Potter, you may now take a seat under the sorting hat." it was kinda boring waiting for my destiny to be chosen, this boy had brown hair which went down to his ears and blue eyes which sparkled in the light from the great hall.
before I knew it my name was called, "y/n mills, you may now take a seat under the sorting hat." I was so startled by her voice that I jumped slightly, I was hoping no one noticed but these two ginger twins, who were sitting on the gryffindor table laughed quietly. it was quite funny actually but I didn't let that disturb me so I took my seat under the sorting hat and let it choose my future. "Ah another mills I see... hmm nice thirst to prove yourself... brave but not too brave...intelligent." at this point I didn't know which one I was going to be put in as he read out my traits they all matched up with different houses but with my thoughts drifting in my head, the sorting hat let out a rumble and a growl and it's said.....
