"can we have burgers for dinner tonight?" I ask my mom as I sit down on the couch next to her the next morning

"sure, I'll have nick run out" she says as she flips the page of her book

"okay, but for now I have this English assignment" I sigh

"you'll do good don't worry" she smiles

"thanks" I smile as my phone dings

From maya: Good morning hoe, I need answers for math asap

To maya: I don't have it on me I'll send pics later

From maya: Fine, what are you doing today?

To maya: nothing

from maya: okay me and Bryce are going to this fair thing, you're coming and also chase if he answers his phone

to maya: what time?

From maya: 3

To maya: okay pick me up?

From maya: see you then

I smile as I go out of her messages and open chases

Nothing?

To chase: good morning :)

I press send but automatically regret it but if I deleted it he would still see it!

I drop my phone and then head back to my English

I look at my phone and then see its 1:09 and I should probably start getting ready

"hey guys can I go to the fair with maya and Bryce at three?" I ask nick and my mom

"sure, just be home by eight were having dinner together" she says

"okay thank you!" I say as I run up the stairs and get into the shower

When I'm done I dry my hair and straighten it then put on a small dress that goes about mid-thigh with a café grid and some white shoes

I put on some highlighter on my nose, some mascara blush and lip gloss and look in the mirror at my outfit and smile

I look over at my phone and see its 3:04 and theirs a text from maya saying shes here

I run downstairs

"I'm going now, bye!!" I say

"have fun" my mom's says

"who's the boy?" nick asks

"my friend and I'm pretty sure he likes maya don't worry about me" I say

"fine, have fun"

"okay bye!" I say as I close the door

I get into the back seat and don't see chase..

"hey girly you look hot" maya smiles

I laugh before replying "you look nice too"

"thank you, I try" she hums as Bryce laughs

"here" she says handing me a dum dum lollipop

"what's this for?" I ask

"idk I bought some then filled my car so have one" she says as she turns on the song candy shop

"is chase not coming?" I ask

"he could if he answers his phone" Bryce laughs

"oh.." I say as we drive off the street

I pull up my phone and look at chase messages and see he didn't read it

To chase: chase? You okay?

I know what's happening right now and I know I shouldn't tell Bryce and maya about it but wouldn't he tell Bryce?

Maybe he's just not on his phone?

Bryce starts rapping to the song as maya laughs her butt off

"go Bryce, go Bryce!" she yells as she raises her hand in the air while still driving

I just sit back and laugh

When we get to the fair its not to busy but its normal and we all get out of the car

"you guys go buy tickets I need to go to the bathroom" maya says

"okay" I say as I catch up to Bryce

"so how have you been?" I ask Bryce

"do you like fairs?"

No reply

"what's your favorite ride?"

No reply

"is this a good place to ask maya out?" he turns to me

"why didn't you tell me I wouldn't have come!" I say

"no because she likes having you around and chase should have been here but he's not answering, and I really want to ask her out but she's going to say no" he rants

"Bryce calm down, she likes you and I know it" I tell him

"okay, I got this, woo-hoo I'm all good, super super chill right now" he says to himself as small laugh leaves my mouth
