After we had cleaned things up from our breakfast, he led me down the side of the house until we made it to the very back where we then headed to a large pasture filled with cows that were either grazing or laying down and relaxing.
"Oh my gosh! This is flipping amazing! Can I pet one of them?" I asked him excitedly.
"Yeah, sure," he smiled.
I scanned the field and my eyes landed on a big white one that was obviously a bull from what I could see of his undercarriage.
(A.N.: So this is actually a personal picture of mine from when I showed a steer in high school. Being a steer, he was used for meat and is no longer with us, but I still love and miss him. His name was Copernicus.)
I slowly approached him and crouched down some to show him that I meant him no harm and wasn't a threat.
"Shit, Eloise not him!" Culver suddenly shouted from behind me.
"He's a dick," Cayce grumbled.
"Back off, he'll charge," Sawyer warned.
I ignored all three of them as I continued to approach the beautiful big boy in front of me.
"Hey, big boy. Can I touch you?" I asked the bull softly, extending my hand out in front of me, letting him sniff and snuff on it. He stamped his front hoof so I slowly moved back to let him calm himself down and relax some.
"Easy, Darlin'. Walk back slowly. That's it," Foster spoke slowly.
The big bull followed me with his head lowered.
"Foster, he's gonna charge her," I heard Foster's dad say worriedly.
"Shit, dad, I know! Darlin' you have to run to me."
I could hear the fear in Foster's voice but I knew that the bull wasn't going to charge me as I looked into his eyes.
"What's his name?" I called back to the others.
"Copernicus," Sawyer said.
"Hi, Copernicus. It's okay, just stay calm," I said.
I stopped retreating and he continued forward and nudged my hand with his big nose. I smiled at him as I stroked his nose slowly and he came closer to me and rested his big, heavy head on my chest as I scratched along his neck, giggling as he stretched on me, liking my nails scratching along his neck.
