Why?
Why the hell does everything bad have to happen to me?
Why did he have to show up?
My mind and heart were racing as I buried myself in the confines of Foster's warm and safe arms which he'd tightened, protectively, around me.
"Get out of here," Foster spit out through gritted teeth.
"No need to be so harsh. I just came by to see my Sunshine," Jason said, making me shudder as I felt my skin crawl at the nickname.
"Jason, please, just leave, son," Mr. Graham said worriedly.
"No, I think I may stay awhile," he said, followed by the sound of a chair being dragged as I refused to look up from where I was buried in Foster's chest and my eyes squeezed shut tightly.
Suddenly, Foster jumped up, picking me up with him as he moved us quickly while still holding onto me firmly.
I slowly lifted my head up from his chest and looked to see that Jason had moved the chair he was in to sit right up behind the one I had been previously sitting in.
"What the hell is your problem?! Why can't you just leave her the hell alone?!" Foster growled.
"What is going on?" Cara asked.
My heart began to pound harder and harder in my chest as I watched Jason turn his gaze to Cara where he slowly gave her a once over.
"And who might you be, pretty lady?" Jason asked as he licked his lips in the most disgusting way.
"Cara, please, just stay quiet," I begged her.
"No! I want to know why you're so freaked out, and who the hell he is?!" Cara said as she raised her voice a little.
"I'm a good friend and admirer of hers...Cara."
I felt like I was going to be sick because he was, and would never be any of those things to me. EVER!
"Bullshit! You're a psychopath!" Foster yelled as he continued to hold me tightly while slowly backing us further and further away from Jason.
"No, I'm not," Jason said as he began to howl in laughter.
Something inside of me seemed to snap.
I was beyond tired of being terrified of him and how it felt like my whole life was being controlled by him. I have had enough.
"Yes! Yes, you are! You're a fucking maniac!" I screamed at him as I busted out of Foster's arms and charged at Jason angrily.
Jason then acted quickly as he suddenly ripped Gracie from her seat and held her to him with one arm while simultaneously producing a hunting knife from his pants pocket with his other and placed the knife blade right up against her neck.
"Come closer and I hurt the kid!" He yelled at me.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Gracie cried out in terror.
"Gracie!" Cara wailed as she shot out of her chair with Dylan following suit as pure rage contorted his face.
"Let her go, you sick bastard!" Dylan bellowed.
I froze in my tracks, torn as I saw my niece cowering in fear as she desperately tried to avoid the hunting knife that he still had that was placed firmly at her throat.
"Sunshine, you have two options," Jason said.
"What are they?" I asked, ready to do whatever I had to do in order to protect my niece, regardless of what it was, especially seeing as it is all my fault that she's been pulled into this mess.
