You were walking along the sidewalk after you finished your shift at the boba tea cafe you worked at.  You were glad you were able to afford a small house in the better part of town, otherwise, you would have to buy a car too.  Where you used to live, it was the most dangerous to walk by yourself.  You had to save up money to move out of the cramped apartment, to somewhere safer.  You knew if you stayed there too long, you would get robbed, kidnapped, or sold off.  It was common where you used to live.

But even with all of those things to look after, there were people who had it a lot worse.  Hybrids.  They are part human and part animal.  They were sold in fighting rings, sex rings, and abused.  Most people believe that they are inferior to humankind, while few think they are equal.  You believed they are equal to humans, and if anything, you think it's cool that they have animal features.

You sighed to yourself, as the wind started to pick up.  You walked quicker until you heard a small meow.  You immediately stopped and turned to your left.  It was a dark alleyway, but right before the light meets the darkness, there was a box.  It wasn't very small, about the same size as a full-grown cat.  Maybe that is what it was?

You slowly approached the slightly beat-up box.  You crouched down and slowly opened the box.  What you saw made you gasp.  A baby tiger.  It looked up at you with large, glossy eyes.  It meowed quietly as you gently picked up the box.  You quickly made your way back to your home, with the tiger in your arms.

You made one last turn and were finally home.  You quickly unlocked your door and went inside.  You placed down the box as you locked the door back since it was night.

"Hey, kitty,"  you said as you crouched down to it.  "Are you hungry?"  You asked as it meowed in response.  Strange, you thought as you made your way to your kitchen.

You looked through your freezer and fridge, looking for something it may like.  Suddenly, a paw touched a bag of chicken in your freezer.

"You want that?"  You asked as you grabbed the bag out to cook it for the little tiger.  As you put it on a pan to put in the oven to cook, you turned back to the tiger, looking at you with its large eyes.

"Are you a girl or a boy?"  You looked over the tiger to see.  "I hope you don't mind me checking..."  It was a boy.

"Do you have a name?"  You asked as if it could answer.  That's when you noticed a collar with a tag that read Taehyung.  You hummed, and right then, your oven beeped, signaling the chicken was done cooking.

You put on an oven mitt and carefully pulled out the chicken to place it on top of the oven for it to cool off and for you to grab a plate for the tiger.

"Hold on, little guy, I don't want you to burn yourself,"  you said to the impatient tiger.  You put the chicken on the plate and carefully placed it down in front of him, with a bowl of water, just in case.

He quickly ate all of the chicken and meowed when he was finished.  You carefully reached down to pet his head as he purred in response.  You picked the plate back up and placed it in the sink, as you made your way to the bathroom to get a shower.

"I shouldn't be too long, don't break anything or hurt yourself while I'm in there, okay?"  You made one final glance at the tiger and quickly went to get your shower.

You didn't spend too much time in the shower, just long enough to get yourself clean.  You grabbed a towel and entered your room to change.  Taehyung was sitting on your bed and watched as you changed into an oversized shirt and underwear.

You turned off your main light, leaving the soft light of the fairy lights hanging up, on.  You slipped under your blankets while petting Taehyung, as the two of you fell asleep.
