The past month could not have gone any slower. Iris had spent the time studying all of the books that she had bought that day with Harry and Hagrid. She memorized all the theories and hand motions to various spells. Although she couldn't actually cast them. Iris had forgotten about the no magic outside of school rule and had gotten a warning from the Ministry of Magic.

Iris enjoyed learning about Herbology the most though. It was the subject that was the closest to her research in the real world. She had been learning Traditional Chinese Medicine before she applied to medical school to combine the two practices. Herbology reminded her of those countless hours she spent studying in her room.

Before she knew it, she was already in the car riding to London. Apparently Sam had a tutor session in the city, which was the only reason why she was getting a ride to the train station.

"Nghe không Are you listening? I don't want to hear about any grades less than an A when the term ends. You better be studying hard. You have to catch up to your brother in grades. Don't just pay attention to the electives like those magic classes. You should focus on math and....." This speech went on the entire car ride to London. Iris just stared out the window, dreaming about the coming year. Honestly, dealing with Voldemort would be better than staying here with parents constantly comparing her to Sam.

The parents quickly dropped Iris off at the station, not even bothering to say goodbye to her. The little girl shook it off and promptly started looking for station 9. It took her a while, but after asking a few strangers, she finally got to the pole that lead to 9¾.

Iris nervously stared at the pole. Everything up to now seemed like a dream. What if reality finally hits... literally when she rams into the pole? Iris shook her head. If she was going to survive in this world, she was going to have to at least be brave enough to run into concrete.

Her black hair trailed behind her as Iris started to sprint towards the pole. She could hear her little owl begin to flap and squawk as she got nearer. Iris yelped and closed her eyes, waiting for impact, but it never came. She just continued running, there she saw the sign for Station 9¾ and right on the tracks was the Hogwarts Express.

All around her were families saying goodbye to their kids before sending them off. She felt a pang of jealousy, but she quickly ignored it. Iris would have to make sure to show her mom how much she appreciated her.

The small girl tried to lug her chest into the compartment, but struggled vainly. Who the hell uses trunks? Haven't people heard of suitcases? Iris' cursing was interrupted when two hands grabbed her chest.

"Here, let me help you!" A teenage boy with flaming red hair put her chest and her owl cage into the train. He was already wearing his Hogwarts robes, and had a shiny pin with a P on it. Ah, this must be Percy.

"Thanks for helping me. My name is Iris, I'm going to be a first year at Hogwarts." She held out her hand to shake his.

"Pleasure to meet you. My name is Percy, I will be the Prefect for Gryffindor. If you need anything at all just let me know! I have to run now, all the prefects are meeting up in their own compartment." Percy gave a little proud huff before rushing off into the train. Iris rolled her eyes. She had never liked Percy, but it couldn't hurt to be on his good side.

Iris then directed her attention to her new owl. She had named her Alessia. Her adorable brown eyes stared up at her.

"Don't worry Alessia, you'll be able to fly as much as you want once we get to Hogwarts. I promise," the little girl cooed at her. Alessia tilted her head and gave her a chirp as if she understood. Iris squirmed at the cuteness. She had always loved animals.
