"Bulla!" A bubble began to form around Iris' nose and mouth. Aria excitedly stuffed a dirty sock in front of her nose and waved it around.
"Can you smell it?" Aria asked as she stuffed it even closer to her.
"No! It really worked! Ugh, finally. I was thinking I would never be able to master it. Thanks for helping," Iris giddily said as she jumped up and down. Ever since they had been practicing together in the Room of Requirement, learning magic became fun like it was supposed to be. Before, Iris only learned it to survive, there were no celebrations like they had been the whole year.
They had already finished taking their first year exams. Iris and Aria were confident that they passed with flying colors, but they continued to get ahead of their studies. Unlike the other students, Iris was not looking forward to summer vacation. She wished there was a summer school at Hogwarts, and her Asian parents would jump at that opportunity. Iris was super jealous of Aria, since she got to spend time with her parents. She probably was going to some foreign country or do whatever rich wizards and witches do. All Iris had to look forward to was strict Asian parenting combined with neglect. But then again, at least she was going to have rice.
Both Aria and Iris tried arranging times to meet up over the summer, but it was a little difficult being twelve years old and living in two different parts of England. How they missed the days when they could go out drinking and their parents wouldn't care if they came bumbling home at 2am.
Nonetheless, they still had their last few days at Hogwarts to see one another and say bye to their new friends. After their final meeting, the girls went to their respective common rooms.
Aria quickly gathered her stuff and began running through the hallways. Her things were still laying around everywhere in her dormitory. A natural gift for procrastination she had.
"Excuse me!" she shouted and zoomed through a few people in the middle of the hallway.
As soon as she got to the entryway of the Slytherin common room, she whispered, "Parseltongue."
"Hey Malfoy!" Aria called out as soon as she saw him and the duo friends who were always with him hanging out at the couch, "Have you seen Daphne?"
"Do I look like her keeper?" he smugly asked and nudged at Crabbe.
Aria only rolled her eyes and walked off to the girls dormitory. Draco Malfoy went back to his factory settings to being the little Slytherin bully everyone knew him for after Aria recovered from the troll incident. Honestly, the girl almost thought she hit her head too hard when he was acting a little bit nice to her. But that's all it probably was, acting.
"Daphne?" Aria stuck her head inside the other girl's dormitory. Sadly, she wasn't there. She shifted her lips to the side and went to her room. It's probably best to no longer procrastinate on her packing.
She felt weird about putting everything away. The first year at Hogwarts was nearing an end and there was a whole summer she had to wait out in order to be back. Aria was going to miss surrounding herself with all the characters she grew up loving and characters that she grew to love. Never had she thought that Daphne Greengrass was going to be her witch best friend at Hogwarts. Although, Daphne was going to be away in the summer. She was going to her family's summer home from what she told Aria, so meeting this summer didn't seem very plausible for them.
After finishing about eighty percent of her packing, Aria was skipping down the common room with her dark hair bouncing. The boys were still there playing wizard's chess and Aria took interest.
"Goyle, why don't you move the knight over there?" Aria suggested and pointed.
Goyle took a moment and stared at the board, evaluating Aria's suggestion. His eyes then widened and he did just as Aria suggested.
