Crystal's POV
When I woke up the next morning Alec was gone and there was a note on his side of the bed. I sat up and stretched before I reached for the note.
'Went to train for a while. I'll try and be back before you wake up.
-Alec'
I rolled my eyes and hissed as I felt a shooting pain in my back before I finally got up and walked into my closet to find some training clothes before I went to take a shower. I threw my hair up into a high ponytail after I got out of the shower and quickly got dressed. I walked back into my room and looked for a pair of running shoes. When I found them I slipped them on and finished getting ready. I walked out of my room and throughout the Institute all the way to the entrance way.
"About time you showed up. I thought I'd have to go get Clary, so I'd have a running partner." Izzy said as she caught sight of me. I rolled my eyes.
"Come on. Let's go for a run." I say to my parabatai as we walk out the doors. We ran around the block and we talked about what happened yesterday. I even mentioned what Clary had said about me to Alec.
"Something tells me that we're gonna need to keep you far away from Clary for a while." Izzy says as we walk back into the Institute. I laughed as I caught sight of Clary and Jace walking toward us. "Cryssie walk away." Iz said, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"When have you ever known me to walk away Iz?" I question the dark haired girl as I turn to face my younger sister. "You can be pissed off at me for not telling you about the Shadow World and whatever else. I don't care. But the next time you decide to be a bitch and call me weak and selfish and say that I don't care about anyone but myself fine, but I want you to know this though, I'd argue with Mom to tell you about this world. She'd continue to say no and that'd she'd wait for you to turn 18. If you wanna call anyone selfish then call mom that. I hated the lies. That's why I wouldn't come home most of the time because mom and I would just continue the argument. You have 0 training Clarissa. You've caused all of us to almost die for your actions. As far as I'm concerned you are a mundane." I say and walk away before I end up hitting my own sister. I vaguely heard Izzy tell Jace to drop it as I continued up the stairs and toward the training room.
Before I had a chance to walk into the room though Hodge stopped me. "Crystal. I need to talk to you." I turned and faced my tutor.
"Talk and train at the same time Hodge." I tell him as we both walk into the room. I saw a shirtless Alec stop hitting the punching bag and look at the two of us as I made my way over to where the staffs were. I tossed one to Hodge and grabbed one for myself. The both of us moved at lightning speed as we trained.
"Did you take the book on the Circle out of the library?" Hodge asked as I dodged his attack.
"Yeah. It's sitting on my nightstand in my room." I tell him as I pin his staff under mine. "Why?"
"I was looking for it this morning and couldn't find it. I know you've been reading it a lot lately." Hodge explained. "Make sure it gets back in the library." I nodded as he found a way to knock my staff out of my hands. I growled and grabbed his staff and used his momentum against him and knocked Hodge on his ass.
"It'll be back on your desk by the end of the day." I tell him as he gets up and walks out of the room. I walk over and pick up the staff Hodge knocked out of my hand and then back over to where the staffs were located and put them away. I made my way over to where Alec was still hitting the punching bag. I took this chance to check out Alec. His chest and stomach glistened with sweat from him training. I hadn't noticed Alec stopped until he spoke.
