Chapter Six

"Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind."

-William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

Grasping the yellow leash, I jogged up and down the streets of London. Luna did whatever she could to catch up with me for the past half hour. Every once in a while she would outrun me, though. We would stop and take a break every ten or fifteen minutes. Luna was actually very quiet... I think. I was listening to music on my iPod through my headphones the whole time. It was kind of cold so I went with my all pink tracksuit for this jog.

We arrived at the dog park. The grass was about to turn brown.Old people, young people and even children were here with their dogs. I saw a frisbee fly and a a dog catch it in it's mouth, letting spit fly out on the sides. Ew.

We stopped on the track as Luna spotted a bird, sitting on the ground. She gave me puppy dog eyes. She whined. I shook my head. ''I don't know..." She wined again. "Fine!" I got down on my knees. I kissed her head and unhooked her leash."Okay. I want you back here after you eat." She ran off. "And eat it all! I don't want to clean up your mess!" I called after her. I don't know if she understood anything I said.

Luna eased her way into the grass. She slowly moved over to the middle of the field, not stopping to check out that male french poodle to her left or the golden retriever ahead of her.I felt a tap on my shoulder. I got off my knees and turned around. Taking out my orange headphones, I was greeted by the boy from the Aileen's shop. "Hey." He flashed me a white smile.

"Hey." I said breathlessly. "What are you doin' here?" I ask looking up at him.

He pointed over to a brown and white Australian Shepherd."My dog, Bolt." He introduced as she came running over. The little girl tugged on the leash for her to stop, but Bolt kept running. She was pratically being dragged.

"Bolt? As in the movie Bolt?" I scoffed.

He smacked his teeth, "No... yes." he smiled at the ground. I giggled. Bolt stopped when he got to me. He was hopping up and down on my legs.

"Hey cutie!" I scratched Bolt behind the ear. He wagged his tail.

"Thank you." The little girl flipped her hair. "I get that alot."

I scrunched my eyebrows together, "I was talking... to the...dog." I giggled.

"Oh." A color came over her. She ran her fingers through her pigtails.

"Hey."I looked up at him, "I don't think I ever caught your name."

He held out his right hand, "I'm Lu-Jake. Jake... Blue"

He didn't seem sure. But I ignored it. I took his hand in mine and shook it, "Alyssa Austin. Austin or Pluvoise if you want." I'm sure he already knew that stupid! But I kept smiling.

"Nice to meet you." He nodded briefly. We began to walk, "So what brings you to here?"

"My wolf Luna." I pointed to her, over by the fountain. She was licking her lips.

"Wolf?"

I nodded. "Dont worry, Luna's harmless.Unless I tell her to sick balls!"We both laughed.

We walked around the circular track for about fifteen or twenty minutes. "So um... I was wondering if we could go and get something to eat or som-" He stopped. Never mind..."

"No, no. I'd love to... but I'm going to Barcelona tonight and won't be back for a while. So I can't, though I'd love to." In his eyes he looked dissapointed. "But I promise as soon as I get back we'll get some food or something." I put my hand on his shoulder.
