Chapter Sixteen: Part One; Hanging Onto Nothing

Considering this is a really long chapter, I am posting it in two parts.
I still have much more to add but I feel like I've been pulling this off for WAY too long.

To be fully honest, I'm not proud of this chapter, I feel like it's a boring one but itis somewhat important as things will get more intense once Chapter Seventeen rolls around and then the rest of the story which is leading to another book, Chasing Ever After.

Yes, I am writing another one.
You'll see why.

Chapter Sixteen; Hanging onto Nothing

I remember when Simon had asked me to be the lad’s body guard. I remember thinking how easy it was going to be and then realized how crazy they actually were and how much of a challenge it was. Though, I also remember that I was going to just be their body guard and not get involved with everything besides their safety because it was what I was signed up to do. To guard them, keep them safe. I never expected to connect the way I did with them and grow a bond that connected me to those five lads’ hearts. Something I never ever remembered thinking because I know for a fact, I didn’t was to get attached to them and fall for them like a father does the first time he sees his newborn child.

            One Direction were my children in a way and seeing them like this, kills me.

            You’d think to this point they were done getting hurt and ending up in the ER.

            Not too long ago Liam and Danielle came back from the hotel, after I had sent them over a few hours ago to get some rest as the waiting room had started to get crowded. Though, it remained empty now as we were the only people in there waiting for some news about Niall. To this point, we were hoping he was alive. Would they really have still kept us waiting if he was dying? I highly doubt it. I also just got the news that Niall’s parent’s had finally landed in Denver, which was great because as soon as they get here and spend a good moment with their son, we will be able to get some news.

            And we were all itching for some.

            I sighed, looking into the room from my seat, I may not be their protector anymore but I am still there for them. And as I let my eyes trail over, Zayn, Liam, Louis and Harry all that I can think of is how much these lads deserve something good―and not just an outing and a spare day to do whatever. They don’t need more awards and neither do they need to go to a party. What these lads deserve is a good break to just figure things out and relax. They have been out of fans eyes and media for a while but they are certainly not well or rested which is what they desperately need to this point.

            Roger is definitely not doing a good job with the boys.

            They aren’t even safe!

            I needed to get my job back but they’re has to be a way to drop Modest and be able to get to―wait a second. If the lads where to get a new management, wouldn’t they be able to―Of course! All they need is a new management and―no, wait. They can’t get a new management because they have a contract for a certain amount of years and if they were to drop it, they’d lose everything. They would have to have dropped them much earlier and not while they are the biggest boy band around and right now Simon doesn’t have time to look for a new management and convince them to take the lads even though so many labels want them―of course, for all the wrong reasons.
