Chapter 6

Slowly waking up from what felt like a never ending nightmare, my vision blurs while adjusting to the sharp daylight that slips through the parted pink curtains. By the looks of the interior of the room, and the softness and sweet scent of the sheets, I must be laying in Tohru's bed. That foolishly kind girl never stop being generous.
Honestly, I feel sorry for her.
Everyone of us...who she surprisingly loves, are using her to get the slightest feel of a mother's love. The love our parents never showed.
I'm no better. I'm doing the same.
I push myself up to seating position, and stroke the dry sweat on my warm forehead with the back of my hand. Since its day, I must've been out all night. All I can remember from yesterday, is running away from the sight that killed me on the inside. That brought too many hurted memories back.
I saw
Blue.
But was it real?
Or was it just another fantasy?
For a long time I've prayed, and hoped the one person I can truly relate to, beside Haru, to come home. And now...when I finally did meet her, I ran away.
I always run away.
Why?
*creak*
The sound of the door creaking up, snapped my eyes towards it momentarily, and noticed the same person I tried to escape! The person I yearned to meet again.
Blue.
With a concerned look on her beautiful face, she stepped inside carefully, "Rin, how are you feeling?"
My eyes dilated of the lovely, yet calm sound of her voice. She stops by the bed, which was enough to make my heart go crazy. I tried to speak, but instead my breath catches in my throat. She mesmerize me with loads of emotions I usually don't feel, and yet again, brings back old memories of the past.
Blue's aura is so strong and welcoming, it literally touches my heart just by standing there. Looking at me with such admirable sympathy glinting in her eyes. She has always had that effect on others, and after so many years apart, she still wields that wonderful gift.
My vision becomes blurry again, but not because of fainting or pain. But because of tears. I couldn't get myself to speak. Body trembling as I desperately try covering my face.
The mattress sinks a little as Blue sits down next to me, and wraps her firm arms around me. The hug is comforting, and nice. But I can't move. It's like... none of this is real. Could it be...that my wish for this person to come home, finally came true?
Is it even possible?
"Rin, I'm so sorry for leaving without telling you." She says quietly, "I just...had to get away from everything, and it blinded me. I didn't realize I was hurting those close to me."
At her apology I could at last move my body again, and self consciously wrapped my arms around her spine, tightening the hug, "You're back now...that's what's important." I utter against her shirt, letting the heavy tears spill out.
"A lot has changed, and I don't expect you to forgive me or anything. But whenever you're ready to talk, I'll be there." She assured kindly, and I nod against her, "Promise...you won't leave again...you should stay.."
She rubs the back of my head soothingly, "Rin, I--" before she could finish her sentence, more people entered the room. Ruining everything. Of course, those who came into the room was Shigure, Hatori and Tohru. Yuki and Kyo stands nonchalant by each side of the doorway, staring in curiosity.
As Blue and I parted from the emotional hug, Shigure says blissfully: "Righty! Why don't you stay for a couple of days, weeks, maybe a year, Bubu?"
Blue tilts her head, "Did the lot of you overhear our conversation?" Now, her usual sweet and caring voice, is filled with annoyance.
Shigure laughs out loud, "Hahahah! What did you expect, Bubu? We are too noisy to insist."
Blue let out a sigh, then Hatori agrees with Shigure, "I think it's a good idea too."
Blue cocks a brow at him, "You do?"
"Yes. It will be a good opportunity for you to catch up with your childhood friends." Hatori stated stoically, just like he always are. But something's different. Some kind of emotion I can't identify, is sparkling in those purple, intense irises of his.
Tohru shows a sunny smile, "Me too! I can't wait to get to know you too, Blue-San."
Before she could answer them, I snatched her attention by pinching the fabric of her shirt, and pulled briefly. Whispering with my head down, "Please.."
"Alright." She agrees, and I gradually meets her gaze again, "But I can't say for how long. Living in a hotel isn't cheap, and I certainly don't want to live in mr. Doggy's house."
Shigure pouts, "Whaat...come on, don't say that, Bubu! I'm the best cohabitant in the world!"
Blue gives a teasing smile, "Something tells me you have enough to deal with as it is."
Shigure groans dramatically, "Uaaahh.."
"Don't sweat it. She can stay in the vacation house. It's mostly empty anyway." Hatori implies, and Shigure cheers, "YAAH!! Problem solved!"
My lips curled up into a small smile, thinking in relief, 'Thank God! That means...we will see each other often from now on, and maybe...she'll be able to help me with the case I'm working on'
