Hiro's pov
There's no way she could win! I have a genius plan to win once and for all.
"Aunt Cass, could you make some of your spicy wings?" I asked her.
"Sure, but why?"
"Well, you know that girl?"
"Who?"
I sighed. "The one with her hair in a braid!"
"Oh yeah. What about her?"
"I challenged her to a spicy wing eating contest, and I would like you to make the wings."
"Spicy wing eating contest? Are you sure you want to do this, Hiro? What would you do if you lost the contest?"
"I would be really upset." I told Aunt Cass.
"Hiro, I'm not letting you do this." Aunt Cass sternly said.
"Pleease." I got down on my knees and begged. "I need to prove Yuki I'm a genius."
Aunt Cass sighed. "Fine, I'll cook my famous spicy wings. But if you lose, you have to help me with the chores around the place."
"Deal." Ugh, I doubt I'll ever do the chores because I'm always busy.
Yuki's pov
I had my black and white striped backpack. It had my laptop, and my everyday needs in it. I found a Polaroid photo of me and my sis. The photo was taken when I was 11 years old. I saw the note at the back of the photo.
"Dear Yuki, this is hard for me to say this, but I'm leaving you and mom. I'm sorry. I can't exactly tell you why I'm leaving you and mom. It's complicated. Someday, I'll see you again. I promise. I love you, and remember, take care of mom for me and stay out of trouble."
A tear slipped out of my eye. That was two years ago. I had been waiting everyday hoping my sister, Haru, would come back. But, I hadn't seen her ever since. I heard the door creak open and quickly rubbed my eyes and all the tears. I didn't want to see Hiro like this. I'm too insecure.
"So what do you want to do, Yuki?" Hiro sat on his desk chair.
I looked at the photo once more and put the photo back into its hiding spot. "I don't know Hiro. There's nothing really good here to do."
Hiro had been thinking for a second, and then he just jumped up. "Ooh! I have an idea! Go grab your stuff and let's go."
"Wait, where are we going Hiro?" I asked.
"Bot fighting." He simply answered.
Bot fighting? This isn't going to be good. I've heard of bot fighting. It was illegal or so I think it is.
"Hiro, are you sure about this? Isn't it illegal? I don't want you to get in trouble." I answered worriedly.
"Oh c'mon Yuki. I've done this before when my brother was alive. Of course we went to jail and Aunt Cass had to pick us up. Everything was fine in the end. I did win though."
"I can't do this Hiro. It's not safe."
"You wanna go or not? Or else I'm going by myself."
I was afraid. I didn't want Hiro getting hurt, after all me and Hiro are the same age. We may be starting to be teenagers, but if one thing for sure, Aunt Cass would be mad at me. Especially my mom.
I sighed. "Fine. Let's go. One wrong move, we're getting the heck out of there."
"Yay!!!" Hiro squealed like a girl. I rolled my eyes.
I know things are going to turn out bad.
