Celebrations

The hot summertime of New York is just as bad as the freezing winters. Sweat dripped off her forehead as she was jogging with Alex in Central Park.

They stopped jogging for a second as they finished their run and headed off to a nearby bench and sat down for a cool down.

It was early July in New York. The weekend after the 4th of July. It was coming close to Alex and Jen's birthday. Alex has something special planned for Jennifer he is going to fly her out to Miami for her birthday and have a surprise party for her. He is flying out all her friends and her family for a special night.

Jennifer and Alex finished their little break and they started walking back to Alex's apartment.

They walked hand and hand. Jennifer squeezed his hand a bit and looked up at Alex.

"Babe?" she said as she looked up him.

"Yes, my love?" he said.

"What are you doing for your birthday?" she asked.

"I don't know yet I am coordinating with Cynthia to see if I go over to Miami to hang out with the girls or they are coming here." He responded. However he spent so much time planning her party he forgot to think about what he was going to do for his birthday. He was probably just going to celebrate with his family.

"The girls have school or camp?" she asked wondering if it was summer time how come they couldn't come over to New York.

"Ella and Tashi are both in dance camp and they really do not want to miss, so I was most probably going to head down there, but I want to take you with me. We'll leave the day before you birthday and we'll come back the day after mine." He said.

"Ok. Yea sure. I was going to do something at my mom's house. I always have a dinner with my family, but we can always plan it for when we get back." She said.

The sun busted through the windows as Jennifer and Alex were fast asleep in Jennifer's apartment. Today was the day that Alex was taking Jen to Miami where he had something incredibly special planned for Jennifer's birthday tomorrow. Jennifer got up early and had to go into work for some meeting and to get some work done since she was taking off so much time for her birthday trip to Miami.

Alex was left in the apartment finishing the details with his pilot who was supposed to pick up Jennifer's family and friends at the airport lot tomorrow. Alex rented out a bigger plane considering that his plane was way too small to fit that many people in. He made calls to the hotel and made sure everything was okay for later tonight after they were in Miami. He also rented out this restaurant for the party and he made sure that he hired a band with a great music for dancing. This was going to be the biggest surprised he ever pulled off.

Jennifer walked into work that morning and greeted Leah and headed to her desk for a meeting. Leah came knocking on her door and said, "Change of plans meeting start now. Boss has to go early." Jennifer groaned quickly getting up from her chair and walking over to the conference room. She walked in and all the lights were turned off. She thought that was quite odd, since the meeting was supposed to start.

Jennifer turned on the light and everyone yelled out "SURPRISE". Jennifer laughed as she saw all her colleagues gathered around the conference table where they had breakfast foods displayed and balloons.

"Thank You Guys!!" she said as she made her way around the table greeting everyone.

"You guys did not have to do this." She said.

"Of course we did. You only turn 28 once." Loren one of her co - workers said.

"Shhh don't say my age." She said bantering.
