Over 1.3K! Thank you all so much!!
After leaving the Institute, Clary realized that she now had nothing. Her clothes were ripped everywhere and she was covered in blood. On top of that, she had nothing to change into, nothing to eat and no one to help her.

This must have been what Emma had felt like

Clary glanced down at her feet, thankful that she was wearing a pair of shoes, and watched as the ground passed beneath. It was then that Clary heard another set of footsteps approaching her. She looked up and saw a dark figure walking towards her with his head bent down. He was wearing all black, so he must be a Shadowhunter, but he was looking down at something in his hands. As he neared, Clary could tell that it was some type of device with a black apple on the back.

"Sir?"

The figure looked up and she she could tell that he was about her age, with curly, brown hair and black glasses on his face. His skin was slightly pale, much the same as hers. He was cute, as cute can go for boys. But not nearly the same as Jace. Clary cursed herself for thinking about him, especially in that way.

"Can I help you?"

"I was wondering if you knew someplace that I could stay?"

The boy raised an eyebrow. "I would say the Institute, behind you. That's where I'm heading."

Clary shook her head quickly, "Anywhere but there."

The boy looked concerned before pocketing his device and holding his hand out towards her. "The name's Simon, yours?"

Clary hesitated before grasping his hand within her own and shaking it lightly, "Clary."

Simon released her hand, his eyes giving away no emotion. It was almost nice that Simon didn't appear to know who she was. At that moment, a ding rang out. Clary glanced around quickly before watching as Simon drew the device out once more. Closer up, she could tell it was a phone although she was uncertain of the generation. It dinged again and Simon held up a finger, asking for a minute. Clary nodded and her turned his back to his, his fingers moving furiously across the screen. It continue to make noises for another minute or two before Simon turned around slowly, his eyes wide. "Are you Clarissa?"

Clary bit her lip, "Who wants to know?" She asked softly.

Simon sighed, "You need to go back to the Institute."

"Absolutely not!"

"Jace says so." Simon was eyeing her curiously and she got the feeling he knew something that she didn't.

"And that matters why?"

"You're Valentine's daughter and-" He stopped himself.

"And what?" Clary demanded.

"You're dangerous." He grabbed her skinny elbow and dragged her behind him, heading back to the Institute as his phone continued making noises.

"Shut it Jace." He mumbled and Clary was pleased to note that she didn't seem to be the only person who got annoyed with Jace.

They arrived at the Institute quicker than Clary would have liked. Simon had continued to increase his speed, causing to Clary to have to practically run to keep up with him. At one time, she slowed down and attempted to go back, but Simon dragged her back and ended up carrying her the rest of the way. His forearms rested under her knees and behind her back, she was comfortable but her mind couldn't seem to not think about Jace. He had held her in the same position when he had rescued her. At that time, she had believed he was an angel and that she was dead. Although that had been less than a week ago, it seemed much farther. It's amazing how quickly one's opinion of another can change. As they neared the Institute, Clary saw Jace standing in front of the doors tapping his foot impatiently. But Simon paid him no mind and continued carrying her into the doors. Jace followed, glaring at them and complaining.

"You didn't answer my messages!"

Simon brushed it off, "I was busy."

"Busy?! With her?!"

Simon turned to face him and I watched as his expression and almost laughed. Simon tightened his grip on me. "Yes, with her. You failed to warn me about how difficult she could be."

"Yes, well she's fine now. You can set her down."

Simon hesitates before doing so.

"Thank you Simon. I need to have a word with Clarissa, alone."

Simon nods quickly and scurries away an Clary turns to watch him. He slowly disappears from her sight and she reluctantly turns around to find Jace directly in front of her, their noses almost touching.

"What did you do?"
