Chapter 17

Cat's point of view

It was roughly around eight or nine pm now, and I was getting a bit tired. Calum's mum and dad wanted to know a lot about me. I was answering questions left and right but it was fine. I had fun just hanging out with them and talking, even if it mostly was about my life.

Right now, we were listening to a story Calum is telling about tour and I was a little out of it. I was tired and the only thing that woke me up was my buzzing phone. I took it out of my purse and checked the message while they were talking.

'Hey sweetie, are you okay? When are you coming home?' My mum texted me and I laughed. I looked at the time on my phone and thought about it. It was 8:47pm right now.

'Maybe around 9 and yeah, I'm fine' I texted back and looked up. Calum was still talking and they seemed so engrossed in what he was saying.

'You're telling me all about it when you get home Catherine. I love you and see you soon.' She texted back and I turned my phone off. I put my attention back on Calum and tried paying attention to what he was saying.

"And there was so many people there. Over a thousand people were there and people were watching on their tv's and computers. It was so amazing. I loved performing there, it was so fun." Calum rambled on about some show.

"I'm so proud of you," our mum said and hugged Calum. I smiled at them and Calum thanked her. You can tell he was enjoying himself here. He was finally off and spending time with his family, of course he'd be enjoying hinself.

Unconsciously, I let a yawn escape my lips and Calum looked at me once he and our mum pulled away. "Are you tired?" He asked me and I nodded.

"Kind of, sort of, maybe," I said as I blushed a bit. Every one stood up when I did and suddenly, I was engulfed in a hug. I hugged whoever it was back and then we pulled away. "I think, I should go home,"

"We need to go shopping sometime," the person said and I suddenly knew it was Mali. "And I'll see you next time." she said after. I agreed to the shopping and I hugged our mum next. This one was a little longer, but I really did not mind.

"Stay safe on the road Catherine," she told me and I nodded. "We'll see you again soon, right?" she asked me and I nodded once again.

"You guys can't get rid of me that easily," I said and we all laughed. I went to our dad once she pulled away and we hugged aswell. Just like the hug I shared with our mum, this was long aswell.

"Stay safe like your mother said," he told me and I nodded. "Tell your adopted parents we said hi, yeah?" he asked as we pulled away and I nodded.

"Of course," I said as I fixed my dress. I picked up my purse and we all said bye.

"Forgetting someone?" I heard someone ask and I turned around. Calum stood there with an eyebrow risen and his hip popped out like a girl's.

"Who am I forgetting?" I asked and pretended to think. "Oh your dog! Where is she? I want to say bye," I said and he laughed. I gave him a hug and he kissed my head.

"Tell your mum I said hi and that I'll be by tomorrow to pick you up. We're gonna hang out a bit before the interview because I kind of need you there with me, like I told you earlier." he told me and I nodded. "Love ya," he said as we pulled away.

"Love you too Calum," I said and he walked me to the door. "Bye guys, see you whenever," I told them and they laughed.

"I'll walk you to your car," Calum said and I rolled my eyes but nodded nonetheless. We walked to my car and then stopped. "You know, I wish I could have put this interview on hold so you didn't have to go on it so early." he told me.

"It's fine Cal," I told him with a smile. "It was bound to happen, better sooner than later right?" I told him and he shrugged.

"I guess," he said and I unlocked my car. "I'll see you tomorrow then," he said and I nodded.

"See you tomorrow Calum," I said and shut the door. It wasn't until I drove off that he walked back into his house with his family.

That was fun. I had a lot of fun at their house. I finally met my real parents and my sister after like seventeen years. It was nice and my mum was bound to interrogate me about every single second I spent over there.

The roads were pretty much empty and I didn't see many people out on my way back home. I chuckled to myself and turned the radio, forgetting my adopted mum had a cd in there.

Nirvana blasted through the speakers really loudly and I quickly turned it down. I love the band, and I'm happy she does aswell, but not this loud. It's not very fun turning the radio on and hearing 'rape me' as loud as it possibly go.

I laughed to myself and looked at the road again. I yawned and leaned back in my seat a bit. My house wasn't very far now, I should be able to stay awake.

When I got home, as soon as I opened the door, I was bombarded with questions. All of them came from my mum since my dad was working tonight.

"Were they nice people?"

"Did you have fun?"

"Do you have any other siblings besides Calum?"

"Are you going to see them soon again? If so, can I go? I wanna meet them!"

However, the last question she asked me, made my heart break just a bit. "You're going to leave us for them aren't you?" she asked in a slightly less excited tone and in more of a sad one.

"No, of course not," I told her as I closed the door behind me. "She's my real mother, yes, but you were the one who raised me. You took care of me. I'm not leaving you for her, I love you and dad too much." I said and then I was gasping for breath as ahe squeezed me tightly.

"I love you too sweetie," she said and I hugged her back. "Now, you have to tell me all about today. Every single detail, don't leave one out." she told me and I nodded.

"Of course," I said. "We can, once I'm changed and a cup of coffee has been made?" I asked and she nodded. "Thanks mum," I said and she laughed as she pulled away.

"No problem, now hurry up. I want to know everything," she told me and I nodded.

"Oh and Calum's coming over tomorrow to pick me up." I said and whe nodded.

This was probably really short but it's 2am so...yeah, not a very long chapter, but I hope you like it nonetheless. I love you guys and stay awesome.
