Kelsey's point of view
Catherine pushed her food around and I kicked her leg softly. She looked up and I gave her a small smile. "Hey, cheer up. Dad will be just fine, I promise." It was a promise we both know I couldn't keep, but said just for the sake of cheering her up.
"They said he might not make it. They're doctors Kelsey, they-they know what's going to happen. They have the degrees and diplomas, we don't." she said, forking some of the pancakes into her mouth.
"So? Fuck diplomas and degrees." I said, taking a drink of my coffee. "They don't determine if dad is okay. He'll be fine. He's a strong man. He can get through it, I swear."
"Yeah," she said and pushed her bangs out of her face. She put on a small smile and a girl came up to us. We shot each other confused looks and I smiled at the girl.
"Aren't you two Catherine and Kelsey?" she asked me and Cat shot me a scared look. We didn't know this girl, but she knows us. Of course she'd be scared.
"Who wants to know?" I asked and saw the girl had a 5sos shirt on...just like I did. "Oh," I said as realization hit me. "Yeah, we are." I sakd with a smile.
"May I ask what you need from us?" Catherine asked and the girl handed her a sharpie. "Um," Cat said as she took the sharpie confused.
"Can you guys sign my phone case?" she asked, turning her phone over. Her case was plain and white, which was cool. Did she plan on getting it signed? Catherine nodded and signed the case. A scribble of Cat with two x's and a smiley face.
Cat handed it to me and I scribbled my name down on it. It was basically the same as Cat's. Kels with two x's and a smiley face. "Thank you so much!" the girl said happily and looked at my shirt. "I love your shirt!"
"Thank you, shrit twins." I said and we laughed. "Bye," I said as she walked away and I turned to Catherine. "Well, that was different." I said as I stabbed a sasuage with my fork and took a bite of it.
"I never thought the 5sosfam would want my signature. I'm irrelevant." Catherine said, taking a bite of her eggs. "It's shocking."
"Irrelevant." I scoffed. "You're Calum Hood, bassist of the band 5 Seconds of Summer's, sister! You're not irrelevant. If anything, it's me. I'm just a friend of their's and your's." I said.
"I'm not Calum Hood, from 5 Seconds of Summer's, sister." she argued. "I am Calum's sister. The crazy, dorky, dirty minded Australian who likes my mum's cooking a little too much."
"You have to remember he's famous. He has fans, he has interviews, and he puts on concerts." I told her and she bit into her bacon.
"I know," she said. "But he's still just a normal teenage boy. The only thing abmormal about him is his job, and his ability to cheer everyone up. He deserves to be treated like a normal teenage boy. He deserves privacy, respect, and to live his life however he chooses."
"When you become famous, you give up privacy and the ability to do whatever you want." I said and she nodded.
"Yes, but he deserves it. Everyone does. It may be invaded, but he deserves some secrets too ya know? You don't need to tell your fans, or everyone for that matter, everything." I nodded and she took a drink of her hot chocolate.
"You have a whip cream mustache." I told her and she laughed. She tried licking it off and I rolled my eyes. She wiped her mouth with a napkin and I looked down at my plate. I had one sasuage left and I was quite full.
"I'm full," Catherine whined and pushed her plate away. She had a piece of bacon on her plate and half a pancake. I stole her piece of bacon and she chuckled. I can eat one more piece of bacon.
