Pony and Austin didn't get to say too much more about the topic after that. Soda had started bounding through the house, buzzed on the electricity in the air and chiming about how it had been so long since the gang was all gathered here for a movie night. He ran back and forth around the house, looking for something to watch and wondering what would be the best choice of snack: popcorn, or ice cream sundaes. As his excitement radiated throughout the house, Austin had started cooking homemade spaghetti sauce while Ponyboy boiled a pot of water for the pasta.

"Is anyone listening to me?" Soda groaned as he wandered through the living room, causing his siblings to immediately turn toward him. "What movie are we going to watch?" He was rummaging through a stack of old movies, separating them into piles that everyone has seen at least once or more than three times.

"I told you to just put Rebel Without a Cause on," Darry said. As he lowered himself next to Gracie on the loveseat, Two-Bit threw the door open and immediately made himself at home. "Everyone's just going to talk through the movie anyways."

"Well, if people are just going to ignore it than we might as well put on something the people wanting to watch a movie would want to see, like A Streetcar Named Desire," Ponyboy interjected for Austin and Gracie to quickly nod in agreement.

"Why would we put on something only a couple people are interested in?" Two-Bit asked.

"Oh, I see how it is: you come over and jump into the argument without even saying hi?" Austin sneered as she drained the water from the pasta and set the burners on low.

"Well, if you didn't keep supporting stupid movie suggestions, maybe I would have time to say 'hi' instead of having to quickly defend the rest of us from you book nerds," Two-Bit spat back playfully toward Ponyboy, Gracie and Austin. "Besides, I don't see why we can't watch Peter Pan—Disney never lets us down!"

"Wait!" Austin's voice rang out as she emerged from the kitchen. "I think I have something perfect." As she jogged to her room, she heard the door open again. She didn't allow herself to be bothered to look at who was entering the home, yet she desperately wished it was Steve. In her bag was a brand-new video tape of Psycho. As she made her way back to the living room, she called out through the house and allowed her voice to echo through the halls of this old home like it used to, "I was saving this for Ponyboy's Christmas present, but tonight seems like the perfect time to watch it."

"Where did you find this?" Ponyboy asked after he snatched the movie from his sister's hands.

"The school bookstore had copies of the it for sale and I'd be damned if I didn't get you that movie." Through the reflection of the television set, Austin could see the outline of a familiar black leather jacket as well as a pair of flashy leather pants hugging an effeminate figure.

"Look-y there," Two-Bit cooed sarcastically, "Austin saved the day, now let's eat."

"What about Steve?" Ponyboy was quick to ask.
