Allison entered the kitchen with Natalie, eyeing her mother with confusion. "You needed us?"

Her mother blinked up from her work, nodding, as she smoothed her blonde hair with a frail hand. "Yes." She nodded. "Your father and I are staying at a hotel overnight."

"So I'll just take care of Natalie." Allison shrugged.

"No way! I'm going to a sleepover." Natalie retorted, vigorously shaking her head.

"Oh, yes. And I talked to the neighbors, Allison. And apparently you flipped off their son?" Her mother frowned, rolling her eyes.

"W-well he called me a nerd through the window." Allison grumbled defensively, the palms of her hands beginning to sweat.

"Also I can't trust you to be home alone anymore." Allison's mother added.

"What do you mean?! I'm a good kid." Allison's eyes widened with dismay.

"You played 'Just Dance' 'till three in the morning last time." Natalie butted in, sticking out her tongue.

"Actually it was two in the morning-"

"Which is why I have a babysitter for you." Mrs. Hills smirked.

"What?! Who's babysitting me?" She hissed.

"His name's Ricky Revere. He's a senior." Her mother crossed her arms. "I trust him to take good care of you. Now, Natalie, grab your things for your sleepover." Mrs. Hills smiled, shooing her away.

Ricky eyed his phone silently, until his mother snatched it away.

"Hey, mom..-" He started, exchanging begging eyes with her.

"Your going to watch the neighbor's daughter. Now go." His mother sniffed, flicking her hand towards the front door.

"Wha- I don't even get my phone?" Ricky grumbled, while making his way towards the exit with a roll of his eyes.

Ricky had settled into Allison's house, the two exchanging hostile glances with each other.

Allison scoffed, as she pulled out her device, trying to keep herself entertained.

A low smile of mischief crept on Ricky's face. Silently, he loomed over to Allison's side, peering over her shoulder at the screen of her phone. "Ooh~ who's Charlie, Allison?" He smirked.

"Hey, go away! She's a girl- not a boy." Allison squealed, attempting to throw a hand at him though Ricky simply dodged her gesture of annoyance.

Swiftly, he grasped at her device, dangling it in a hand above her. Allison let out a huff of frustration, while trying to leap for her phone.

"Give it back!" She demanded.

Ricky chuckled in reply, while scanning her screen with little interest. "Aw, who's Ray? Another boyfriend of yours'?" He teased.

Having enough, Allison tackled Ricky to the ground, flailing her hands violently at him.

The two stumbled to the floor, a flustered expression masking Ricky's surprise. "Get off me, nerd!"

"Shut up and give me my phone, jerk."

The day soon shifted to night, as Allison grew tired, instantly falling asleep on a sturdy couch.

Sighing, Ricky shuffled to his feet, lifting her onto his back. Startled by how light she way, he saddled his hands beneath her calves, allowing her body weight to sag on him.

Ricky eventually made his way to her room, silently placing Allison on her bed.

He eyed her for a moment, taking in her features. She had blond hair that shaded into a natural gold, and smooth pale skin. Compelling himself to look away, Ricky slipped out of the bedroom and into the living room.

Ricky gathered his belongings, prepared to leave until seeing it was.. raining. Just great.

Sighing, he placed his items on a nearby chair, grumbling with annoyance- until a sudden crash from the kitchen brought him from his thoughts.

Ricky scrambled into the diner, startled to see Allison blinking down at a shattered cup.

"Allison? What the hell are you doing here?" He hissed.

"Me?! What're YOU doing here? It's one in the morning!" Allison retorted, thrusting an index finger at a nearby clock.

"It's pouring outside- I can't go out there."

"Well suck it up. Just get the money from the counter and leave." Allison mumbled, as she crouched to the ground, beginning to helplessly pick up the pieces of glass.

"Wait. This was for money?" Ricky questioned, blinking over to the island table, spotting a few slips bucks along with a note. "This was for money!" He smirked, gathering up his reward.

"Yeah, yeah. Now leave."
