Edaline's POV

It was today. The baby shower. I still couldn't believe Sophie was having a baby! She wouldn't tell me if it was a boy or girl, but I'm secretly hoping for a girl.

"So will you tell me now?" I asked her.

"Mom, just wait!" Sophie told me.

"At least you know."

"Trust me," Fitz said, he was getting things ready. "Biana is bursting too."

Biana reappeared. "Are you done yet!?"

"No, but maybe we would be if you helped." Fitz rolled his eyes.

"Ugh, fine. I just don't want to ruin my nail polish!"

"How come Amy gets to know?" I asked.

"Because she's in charge of gender reveal."

"Yeah," Amy said from Calla's Panakes tree. "And don't worry, you won't be disappointed."

"Argh! I just think it's unfair that your sister gets to know but not your mom."

"Oh come on Granny, calm down."

"Keefe!" Sophie ran up to give him a hug. Fitz seemed uncomfortable. "You're here!"

"Miss Mysterious F is having a child, of course I'm here!"

"Hey guys!" I saw Linh dragging Tam by the arm. "He didn't wanna come."

"You know, I'm not a fan of colors."

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" I heard Keefe call from speakers. "WELCOME TO MRS. VACKER'S BABY SHOWER!"

"Keefe," I said. "We're only five feet away from you."

"I KNOW! I JUST FIGURED I SHOULD USE THESE WONDERFUL SPEAKERS THAT WERE PROVIDED! DO YOU THINK I COULD BORROW THESE TO ANNOY LADY CADENCE?"

"Keefe," Sophie said. "That's not a good idea."

"OKAY FINE! ANYWAY, SOPHIE'S BABY IS..."

"Finally," Biana whispered to me.

"A GIRL!"

Bright pink streamers rained around the Panakes tree.

"OH, AND BANGS BOY," Keefe said, still talking through the speakers. "COVER YOUR EYES!"

"It's a bit too late for that," He said.

Everyone went to hug Sophie. "Congrats!" She just smiled.
