Biana's POV

I heard the music blaring in my ears. The sparkling light burned my eyes as the colors flickered through the room. Prom night was finally here.

"Hey guys!" I said, running to catch up with the group. Sophie's and Fitz's arms were locked together, which got them tons of weird looks.

"Hey Biana!" Sophie ran up to me and gave me a hug. "You're so itchy, but I guess sparkles are like that.

I couldn't wait until the time came for Fitz's surprise for Sophie. It was hard not to blurt it out, so I had to hold my chest.

"Biana, are you alright? You've been standing there for an hour holding your stomach."

"Yeah, I'm fine, just... waiting for Keefe," I lied.

As if on cue, Keefe ran up to me and gave me a big hug. "Sorry I'm late!" He gave me that cute innocent smile he always gives after getting in trouble. "You're like a disco ball! What happened to trying not to steal Sophie's thunder?"

Fitz glared at him.

"Sorry..."

"What?" She asked.

"Nothing," Fitz said quickly. Sophie frowned, but let it go.

"Wanna dance?" Sophie asked Fitz. He slowly wrapped his arms around her waist. The box in his pocket started to fall loose. I was thinking so fast my head started to hurt. What if she saw it?

"C'mon!" Keefe called me. That was my chance. I walked straight by Sophie and Fitz, shoving the box deeper into his pocket as I walked over into Keefe's arms.

He stroked my cheek and gave me a... kiss?

"What was that for?" I asked him.

"For being an awesome girlfriend."

"I'm your girlfriend?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I mean-"

"No, I get it." I assured him. I heard Fitz asking Sophie to dance up on stage. It was happening.

Sophie's POV

Why Fitz asked me up on stage, I had no idea.

Fitz pulled up a microphone. "I'd like to ask you a question, Sophie."

"Okay," I replied.

"Sophie Elizabeth Foster," He started. Then, knelt down.

"Will you marry me?"

"I... I... I don't know." Fitz's eyes started to water.

"I understand." He closed the box and walked off the stage.

"What did you do!?" Biana asked.

"I... don't know if I'm ready."

"You don't know if you're ready?!"

"Biana, I'm only 17!"

"He never said you were going to get married now! You'd wait a year or two. Elves normally get married at 19 or 20! It's fine!"

"Well," I said. I ran to find Fitz.

"Fitz! Look, I'm sorry! I changed my mind. Yes! A thousand times!"

"Really?"

"Really." He held me tight as he kissed my lips. He slowly slid the ring onto my shaking finger.

He pulled me in for another long kiss.
