I waited for everyone to have fallen asleep before I snuck out of the common room. I applied an invisibility charm over myself and ran down the halls quickly and quietly. I made it outside and found Draco standing in the center of the field, two brooms next to him.
I removed the spell, feeling comfortable enough that I didn't need to hide myself anymore.
"You're mental. This is mental," I laughed as I ran up to him. He grinned when he saw me, a twinkle in his eye as he approached me.
"But you're here aren't you? So it can't be too mental."
"Unless we're both insane and pleading to be expelled," I suggested, making him laugh.
"Okay, so you said you already knew how to fly. I'm obviously more advanced considering I'm a seeker on the Slytherin Quidditch team. But I want you to prove yourself. Give me a show."
"A show?" I snickered. "Watch it. You're wavering on two different subjects there, Malfoy."
"What other subject could I poss- oh," He blushed, then smirked. "I mean, if you want to talk about that we can..."
Before he could finish, I had whizzed off on my broom. Leaving him behind. I heard him shout something of protest behind me but I was too far to hear what he had said.
He zoomed right up next to me, a decent ways up in the air. Where the breeze was uninterrupted and the stars were like that of a blanket over the sky. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath, the faintest bit of a content smile on my face.
I could feel his presence next to me.
"It's hard to focus on life's problems," I softly spoke. "Way up here."
I felt his eyes on me. I knew he was watching my every move. I sighed and turned to him. "I wish we could just- fly away from all of this. Whisk away to our own freedom."
"I agree," His voice was quiet. His entire demeanor is calm. I was seeing a version of him that no one else has ever seen. It had me mesmerized.
And dare I say... completely head over heels.
I felt his arm snake around me from behind, but before he had a good grip on me, I zipped out of reach and smirked. "Ah- you gotta earn that!"
He seemed to whine. "Ana, we were having a moment!"
"And we can have a moment!" I gripped my broom tighter and leaned down closer to it, preparing myself for what I had planned. "But you gotta catch me first, Malfoy!"
He chased me around the quidditch pitch for what seemed like an eternity. No matter how hard he tried he just couldn't get close enough to stop my broom. I turned back to look at him and see where he was behind me, but I didn't see him.
Instead my broom whacked into one of the goal posts at one end of the pitch and it cracked in half. Sending me falling through the air. The oxygen left my lungs in seconds. I gasped.
Then suddenly I landed hard on my back in the sand below the pitch. The wind knocked out of me and I couldn't breathe. Gasping for air, my eyes darted around me for any sign of the blonde boy.
"Ana?!" I heard him yell in panic from the other side of the pitch. In seconds he was next to me. He helped me sit up and rubbed my back, encouraging me to slow my breathing and take it slow.
It was too late, however, considering I had been hyperventilating for too long and I passed out. The last thing I saw was a head of platinum blonde hair and fear-struck silver eyes.

I loudly sucked in a breath as I jerked upright in a nurse's bed. A cot if you will. I panicked. I yanked my blankets off and pocketed my wand, then as soon as I stood up, the curtain surrounding my bed opened.
